One of the biggest reasons we all play Final Fantasy is the community. Deep friendships and connections are forged both in game and out of game. Sadly, within our community, there are those that are lost. Here we honor those players, and friends, that have passed.
R3505: (VrTr) HarryTow
May 18, 2022 Final Fantasy lost a great person. HarryTow was known by many, liked by most, and hated by some. Whatever your opinion may have been, he was always himself. Although he spent many years ill and went through countless surgeries, he always stayed positive. He fought hard to be alive and fought even harder in game. He was a perfect example of “there’s always someone smaller”. Frequently missing all the new updates, he was still out burning and finding heroes. He filled every rally he saw and set whenever he could. He was a kind soul who always had something positive to say. He was there when people had a bad day to make a joke and help them laugh again. He didn’t let life get him down no matter what. In game he was able to be himself without the limitations of his broken body. He was a pleasure to have in guild and to have known. He will be missed by many.
“I was fortunate enough to have met him and spend time with him just before he got sick this last time. He was happy and making plans for the future. Regardless of his own health, he could always make me laugh. Usually by telling me repeatedly when it would be time to fish again. My last conversation with Harry was him telling me he was headed to the bath and how it would be better if there was a hot nurse to do it for him. I am better having known Harry. I will miss you more than you will ever know. I hope you’re finally getting sponge baths from hot nurses. Farewell my friend. We will meet again.”
~Paige
“To Harry, one of the most unique players I known for a long while. Thank you brother for making us laugh when times were tough, or when one of us whom got burned or we couldn’t burn anyone. I’m glad I had the chance to play along your side. You will be truly missed but your legacy will remain in our hearts forever. RIP Harry, I will see you soon.”
~TacoHo3
“He was always asking to give us a foot rub. Wanting pictures of feet. I laughed so many times at him giving Page hell in GC about her feet. Even when he wasn’t feeling well he still made us laugh. “Hello room it’s the awesome and great HarryTow fear me!!! Haha made ya smile!!!!” It’s like he would run, in drop that comment then run out.”
~Smiley
“Harry was definitely a one of a kind type of guy. He was always positive despite whatever current health issue he was battling. He loved joking around and throwing witty comments in realm chat and then disappearing, especially if it was other people’s banter at each other. It was a blessing to have him in our lives and his memory will live in our hearts. He will be missed beyond measure. Fly high cuz”
~Mama Cat
R3337: (Soka) Nasty MfknN8
“Thank you, dear friends, for your reinforcement. I would not make it this far without your love and supports. I wanted to say I love you all and you will be missed.”
“Sorry boss. I lost this final battle”.
Those were Nate’s last messages to his “gamily” in Soka guild when he was informed that he would not make it through the night. Guild chat went silent. Everyone startled at the news.
Soka members were surprised because, even though we know he had been sent to hospice due to cancer, he stayed positive and brought laughter to our chat. When being awake between drugged naps and treatments, he talked to himself to find his way out of hospice and the Death as he did successfully 5 years ago from his stroke. “I’m not going nowhere”, he said and continue our banters. “It was him […] who originally recruited me. So many laughs til our guts hurt talking s*** on Soka after dark”, MFKN Snuss said. Being with us for 2 years, he constantly lightened the atmosphere where he was around. He could also sit hours and hours to listen and comfort a member who was having a hard time, or explain about the game from basic step to a new player. More than once he became a mediator to smooth conflicts out by his patience and listening.
“Nate was a brave fighter and a great support to our members. He would not hesitate to send marches to rescue our members heroes even he would lose his. He and I argued a lot of times just about him draining everything he had to help others. One of his words stuck in my mind: Please boss, please let me help. Helping others makes me sense my presence”. He never made a second thought when he can help someone out. He spent nights and nights to fish then sent the resources to small players when asked. If a strong person/ player is not the one who destroys others but to carries others his shoulders, Nate was one of those strong people.”, Wild Siona shared in tears.
He is not only a great friend to our members but also to other guilds. In a game play, many times we call each other enemies but after all we are friends. “Nate is a very special person. I remember the first time we met. We became instant friends…. He brought us together with his kindness and compassion for others”, GodOfJupiter, SFGO guild posted. After all, it is just a game, a place to socialize, make friends and an entertaining outlet. We are here to support each other and have fun.
All parties will have to come to an end and we all have to say goodbye to each other at some point. He didn’t win cancer and cancer didn’t win him either because his brave spirit is always with us and brings us together, like one of Soka members, Psyche, wrote:
“Moments like this make us rethink life,
How everything can end in a blink of an eye
I wish we didn’t wait for the last moment to show our
appreciation, our love, or simple
“I am sorry”
I hope Nate find peace, and I hope we
learn how to appreciate every second with the people we love
We are not guaranteed tomorrow
Enjoy our life today, everyone!”
Goodbye dear friend! It is never the same without you.
R3799: (JKRZ) Karaly4
“He has called an Angel, our Karaly. He needs her more than we do. It hurts and we tend to question why it has happened. She was such a sweetheart. We just keep our faiths and keep pushing forward. Everyday we should treat as it’s our last. Love one another and be respectful. You never know what the person next to you might be dealing with in life. A simple smile and politeness can make a person’s day. She will always be one of our JKRZ. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. We hope you’re dancing in the sky,
and we hope you’re singing in the Angels choir.
We hope the Angels know what they have,
We bet it’s so nice in Heaven since you’ve arrived.Karaly, it was an honor to get to know you. You will truly be missed by all of us at JKRZ.”
R3531: (KBE) x EK x
(KBE) LadyLuck: “EK, in the very short time you have become my best friend and mentor. You and your wife became a part of my life. You gave me so many life lessons and the hours we shared over calls laughing touched me so much. One thing I will never forget that you taught me was the words you can tell someone you trust, You Can Hurt Me. Today with this sad news, I am hurt and heartbroken. You will be so missed. Love you always.”
(KBE) Lord Bacon: “One of the best things about playing FFXV:ANE has been being part of a community of people with whom I can interact with regularly. EK was the first person who I befriended when I joined my current guild. Over the course of the next two years, we cultivated a friendship. He was kind and generous to all our guild, and was widely seen as the heart of our online family. Now, our heart has been irrevocably broken. Having been wary of giving away too much personal information online, I was at the point of finally sharing my contact information with EK where we could communicate outside the game. Emails. Texts. Phone calls. I was going to provide him my information after he returned from his camping trip. Unfortunately, EK died on that trip. He was my closest friend that I had in this game. I am grateful for the friendship that we had, which we had it. My heart goes out to his wife and his family. Rest in Peace, EK. EOS won’t be the same without you.”
(KBE) Texania: “It’s hard to find the right words to say how much EK was loved and appreciated by everyone. He had an unending love of knowledge which he loved to share with anyone he could. His humor was contagious. His play on words, tempting others to follow. Of course there was his favorite flower. Always a conversation starter. I’m grateful to have been allowed to be called his friend. He will be sorely missed.”
(KBE) Milton: “It is very sad and unfair. EK was a great man and a great buddy. Always willing to help others. This is our huge loss. We will not forget him, he will always be in our hearts. My condolences to the family.”
(KBE) Elle: “Dear EK’s Family, thank you for sharing him with us over the last few years. EK was a combination of caring and thoughtful, but also say the saucy side in everything. Stubborn to a point, and by that I mean he’d ask for help and then ignore it all. But when it counted he was there for everyone in the game, and in a personal capacity always caring as to if people were ok. Sending you all much love in this really difficult time.”
(KBE) Mia: “EK was cuteness embodied. We will remember him as an angel. Love for people was a constant for him. And if someone mattered to him above all else, it was his wife for whom his love was complete. We are very very sad. Mia and I are downcast. Our condolences to Shelley and the whole family. For you my friend EK.”
(KBE) Kimboslice: “I’ve only been back a couple weeks, but he was the first to add me on LINE and give me tips, and helped me. We talked about how to better deal with my anxiety issues, and finding ways to cope with it and live a healthier way of life. He told me he’s proud of me for continuing my education despite how chaotic my life is. Just literally the most sweet and nicest human being I’ve ever had the pleasure to get to know. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who knew him. He made me feel like I’m destined to do great things, and I hope I can make him proud of me. He will forever be in my heart always.”
(KBE) xAlyKat: What can I say my friend. You were my rock, my ride or die for 3 years. You kept me on track, and kept our family going when I was too sick to chat or be on game. You were so proud of going back to school, and I was so freaking proud of you too. You were brave, even in the face of your fear. You put yourself aside to lift up others, as you can see by the prior comments from your friends. You were relentlessly positive, even when we had our occasional argument. You put yourself out into the world, even when it was scary, and as a result you made a deep impact on the lives of so many. I love your face, and I will miss you deeply.
R259: (ToT) Wonderlands
We experienced a deep loss on January 31, 2019. Wonderlands, a great friend, passed away on that day.
Wonderlands was as many in 259 know her is a fun spirit. She always encourages and protects her friends specially the smaller players, always ready to battle and to lend a helping hand.
She lived with an infectious enthusiasm, still making puns, still generous, and filled with even more wisdom filling the game with laughter. Veronica was and will forever be an extraordinary being.
On one of her very last days, She still played the game with a great passion and engaging with her teammates. Very few knew what she was going through.
Wonderlands brought us together like family, caring for one another and being compassionate towards our teammates.
Who is your family? It may not be the people you are related to by blood.
You might find other siblings all around you when your own have betrayed you.
It may be someone who gives you a new way to see the world. It may be someone who loves you unconditionally, happy when you are happy, there for you when you are lost.
And you, too, can be family to those who don’t have they ones they should.
Taken too soon, lost but will never be forgotten. Our friendship started in game and flourished in real life. We have not only lost a great warrior but a dear friend, a sister.
You will always stay in our hearts!
Our tribute using W H Auden:
=====
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message ‘She is Dead’.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
She was our North, our South, our East and West,
Our working week and our Sunday rest,
Our noon, our midnight, our talk, our song;
We thought that love would last forever: We were wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Realm 363: (M.C) Emmaline11
“She was helpful and friendly to everyone. She didn’t ever have any bad words to anyone that captured her Hero, and she was a great warrior. She was our Soul and Police, and took the time to take care of us all.”
Realm 325: (Trib) Sasquatch
“He was a great player and father. His daughter now plays his account. He was killed by a drunk driver on the way to work one night.”
Realm 415: (IXI) Shadow Hawk0
“Shadow, Shadow, Shadow…like most of us, he found the game as just another outlet for boredom and to get away from life stresses. However, it quickly became much more than just a game; friends were made, and a meaningful relationship was formed. He was always a helpful person and used his military background and strategic knowledge to advance and build tactics with others. Although he was quiet in the chat, he made the most of his connections through private messages and had the respect of so many within several realms. Taken from us too soon, he’ll forever be in our memories, and that way never is forgotten. With my heart and soul, I say thank you.” ~Peach.
Realm 575; (WaB) oV vVv Vo; Vman
“VMan was a beloved friend to all of us in Chocobo’s fields, a beloved brother to many and had a huge population of friends outside the realm as well. He was often very active for titan events and other multi-realm gatherings. He made many want to become stronger and better people both in game and out. He passed away after battling with illness for several months.”
“Vman was the strongest player in our Realm. He was always ahead of everyone, not only in power, but in everything including manners. If you take a look at our scar today, you will see the whole Realm united to honor him. He is known among other Realms as well. Players respected him rather than fear his power. He was helpful to everyone. If he spoke he made everyone laugh. We missed him being around us since he got ill. We miss him even more today. Vman will be in our hearts forever. RIP VMAN.
R1449; (RIPK) AlwysKitKats
“Kathy, AKA KitKat was such a beautiful person. She brought fun and flair to the game and to guild chat. We often referred to her as Princess KitKat because she deserved so much, she had such a big heart. Many realm in Server 4 paid tribute to her, and we in WWAR of Lingagh appreciate this so much!
KitKat will be truly missed by her daughter Lilia, her niece and nephew Skylar and Jacob, her immediate family and the unexpected addition to her world, her game family. We love you Princess Kathy! You will live forever in our hearts”

R1481; (~MF) GrumpyBone
“Bone, the quiet master sensei. Original name “Bonebreak”, he ended up being deemed Grumpy Bone or Grumpa, as many would call him. He helped everyone and anyone without question. He would brighten the chat with just a few words, and was always there to help with the crazy amount of resources and ongoing questions. He went beyond that and made people feel safe when they weren’t at their best. Always encouraging in a teasing way, to help people grow and have fun. He was father, grandfather, a Veteran and a friend. He was amazing, and we are wishing always that we had more time.
Rest in peace Grumpa, you will be missed many, loved by all and never forgotten.”
R1099; (Vrs) I Boo Boo I
“Boo was a young, ambitious, loving and all around great person. He was taken too young and will be missed beyond what words can explain. He was a free to play player, and knew how to protect his Hero and communicate everything happening. He’s loved, missed and never forgotten. Fly high my Ohana.”
R1481; (~MF) CBDHAZE
“Our Haze had the best sense of humor and loved to laugh. When he was diagnosed, all he wanted to do was spend time with his family and make memories for his beautiful wife and children. He found hard every step of the way, and dedicated rest of his days to those that loved him the most. His limited time in the game found him talking about how important it was for him to continue to take care of his family no matter what happened. He was a force, but he was a gentle soul, and we will all miss him and continue to keep him and his family in our hearts. Rest in peace CBDHAZE.”

Today we learned the very sad news out of Saulhend Pass #1099 – DarkSoul from guild AWW has passed away, god bless her soul. I personally didn’t know her that much, but the information from her friend was;
“I’m Michel a friend of Ilse. Her fmaily has asked med to send you the intensely sad news that Ilse is no longer there. Ilse has decided to take a different path, one more familiar to her and ultimately brought her the peace and quiet she longed for.
On my behalf of the family, I wish everyone who has known Ilse a lot of strength.”
A beautifully written mail we got this morning.
Lots are in mourning & sending their prayers to the family from guild AWW amd others, and so am I.
I hope you will find yourself, peacefully & without sorrow and pain walking among the higher ones your own path in that collective!
Peace & repect!
Best regards.
On my behalf, my prayers go out to family & loved ones
