The month of July brought many changes and events to the realms in Final Fantasy. Below we will take a look at what was new, what was changed, and what events we all spent time at burning each other.
July Releases
New Masteries and Hero Levels for Noctis, Prompto, Luna, Ignis, and Aranea
All five of the older heroes were updated with new skills and additional Hero Levels up to Level 150. All skills and applicable Hero Levels are listed here: https://www.ffxvanehub.com/guides/the-great-hero-debate/.
New Expansion Buildings and Expansion Building Teleports
Final Fantasy added three new Expansion Buildings during July, as well and offered Expansion Building Teleports for purchase.
- Military Command Post: Produces chests with materials to train Tier 7 Troops
- Moogle Village: Produces Moogle Credits
- Jewel Mine: Produces chests with gems

Wonder Tiles
Players now have the ability to build their own Wonder. Building a Wonder requires Wonder Blueprints. Maximum-level Wonders boast a 2,000,000 Mercenary Troop limit, an additional 300,000 march size, and an increased rally size of 1,000,000.
Leviathan’s Challenge Dungeon (Hydraean Gear Set)
Introduced at the Tournament of Champions, the Hydraean Gear Set is obtained by hitting monsters in the Leviathan’s Dungeon in the Proving Grounds. Pieces of gear are upgraded in the Mythic Forge. For more information on this set, see here: https://www.ffxvanehub.com/guides/gear/hydraean-gear-set/.
Ifrit’s Mercenary Troops
These Mercenary Troops are equivalent to T7 troops, and have a bonus against non-elemental troops. They grow stronger when surrounded by other enemy and ally fire troops, and are trainable at Level 7 Mercenary Pits.
New Monsters
Several new Monsters made their way into the Monster Farms in Eos this month.
- Mindflayer Monster: The Mindflayer Monster offers differing levels of Cripple HP to be used against your opponent.
- Treant Monster: Another Monster to add to your arsenal, the Treant provides a Troop HP boost.
- Midgardsormer Monster: The Midgardsormer Monster has two boosts, City Assault Attack Bonus, and Armor Shredding.
- Killer Wasp: These Monsters sting your opponent with Armor Piercing and Mercenary Troop Attack Boosts.
Oracle Elemental Boosts, Oracle Gladio Boosts
Additional Oracle boosts were released throughout the month, adding to the current collection of options.
VIP 80
This drop added another 10 Levels of VIP. New benefits include “Break Item,” additional Attack/Health/Armor, Troops Queue, and more.
MA-S Enforcers
These Mercs were released specifically to be used in fighting the Bandit Outposts, and maximizing the drops of gems.
Trial of Heroes: Aranea (Stoss Spear)
Adding a new weapon to the mix specifically for Aranea, the materials to craft the Stoss Spear can be obtained by running the Aranea Dungeon. Benefits are Cavalry HP, Cripple HP, Mercenary Attack with Aranea, and Mercentary Training Queue.
Crystal Nexus
The newest building in town, the Crystal Nexus, uses Cores to power limited time boosts. These boosts have a cooldown after use, so strategize wisely! More information on the Crystal Nexus can be found here: https://www.ffxvanehub.com/guides/crystal-nexus-overview/.
T8/Elite Troops/C70
Tier 8 (Elite Troops) were released this month, and brought a new level of combat to Eos.
July Events and Tournaments
Realm of Heroes
A clear player favorite, the Realm of Heroes provided copious Hero Loot Tiles containing Hero Medals, Hero AP, and Hero EXP.
Realm of Champions
The Realm of Champions finally arrived after two qualification rounds. Ports lasted 7 days; while not quite as fantastic as the first ROC, they still provided a venue to meet up with friends from other realms and practice the art of a bubble.
EOS Championship RvR
Run as a Swiss Tournament, this RvR was as fierce as it gets. Many Realms were left smoldering in the wake of the battle for supremacy, as only one Realm would remain victorious in the end.
Realm Boss Killer Wasp (Moogle credits)
A new Realm Boss in town, the Killer Wasp, dropped Killer Wasp Moogle Credits, which are used to purchase Infernian Gear, Magebane Gear and much more in the special Killer Wasp Moogle Market.
Daemonic Plague
The Realms filled with the Daemonic Plague Citadels in this event. Each outpost dropped special Cores that were used in the Magitek Converter to upgrade (or downgrade) Blueprints to Royal, Exalted or Divine.
Bandit Outpost Event
Gems, gems and more gems! These Outposts dropped an incredible amount of gems, and was one of the game’s most popular events to date. The Bandits were certainly hoarding a huge amount of jewels!
One-Way RvR
A unique spin on the usual Realm vs. Realm, the One-Way RvR only allowed one side to cross the border. One side attacked, and one side defended. Special Mercenary Troops were released just for this event, one focused on Defense and the other on Attack.
Four Corner Realm Bosses
Another hugely popular event, these Realm Bosses dropped Blueprints and Tomes. Each Realm Boss dropped a different type, allowing players to customize their needs from Royal to Elite Tomes and Prints. Packs were available with Double and Quadruple boosts.
Many new features and events came to Eos during the month of July. Please join me next month for our August Recap with AlyKat. That’s a wrap!
