Dark Buildings

A look into the new boosts unlocked with our first dark building levels between 101 to 110.

Shortly after the Dark World reset, building levels up to 110 were released on April 27th, 2019.  Most packs currently contain an Instant Upgrade All Buildings: Level 100 item, which helps to ease into this transition.  

For those not looking to purchase a pack, Grandiose and Master Grandiose Building Blueprints are available in the Moogle Rewards tab of the Moogle Market.

First things first, these new building levels require Dark World Building Blueprints, which are bright yellow in color.  

Early building levels are fairly “cheap” for blueprints compared to higher levels, as there is a dramatic increase in blueprint cost as the levels progress.  The below chart shows a summary of the blueprints required for each building type — in order to max out only one of each building requires a minimum of 500 million blueprints.  

Most people have more than just one each of resource buildings or Banks/Barracks/Hospital Wards so the overall total cost to level up all of your buildings will vary depending upon your build.

For the most part, the boosts obtained from each level are expected and follow the same logic as previous building levels.  The Resource Vault and Trading Post surprisingly add in Dark Cavalry Attack and Dark Warrior Attack, respectively, which are unexpected additions.

Citadel

Upgrading your Citadel to 110 requires that you first upgrade your Wall, Hospital, and University all to level 109.  This upgrade alone adds an additional 600k March Size, 7.4M Troop Capacity, 20k Dark March Size, and 10M Dark Troop Capacity.

Bank

Bank 110 can be upgraded before Citadel 110 but requires Trading Post 110 as a prerequisite.  Each Bank 110 gives a total 12% Dark Troop Armor boost, in addition to Total Dark Gil production rate increasing to 4167 per hour, with maximum resource capacity of 80000.

Barracks 110 can be upgraded before Citadel 110, but like Banks, require Trading Post 110 as a prerequisite.  Each Barracks 110 adds an additional 8.5M% Troop Attack Bonus and 8% Dark Troop Attack. The latter boost is particularly helpful in the Dark World.

Injured troop capacity is increased by 197619 troops and the injured Dark Troop hospital capacity is increased by 15000 at this level.  Hospital healing speed is boosted to a total of 220% and Dark Troop HP is boosted to a total of 100%.

Resource Vault 110 can be built prior to Citadel 110 but requires Bank 109 as a prerequisite.  Boosts from Resource Vault 100 to Resource Vault 106 remain constant, then upgrading from Resource Vault 106 to Resource Vault 110 provides a total 50% Dark Cavalry Attack, which is an unexpected source for this type of boost.

Maxing your Wall to 110 can be done before Citadel 110, but the Quarry 109 is a prerequisite.  The total boost for Dark City Defense Attack at Wall 110 is 50%. City Defense Attack stays as a constant 2.67M% and maximum trap count remains 1.88M.

Watchtower

Upgrading to Watchtower 110 can be done before Citadel 110, but the Training Grounds 109 is a prerequisite.  Watchtower 110 adds an additional +10 Scout Bonus Cost. There are no additional bonuses gained from upgrading the Watchtower.

Minimize Costs

Upgrading to level 110 can get very expensive!  There are two ways that you can reduce your costs, depending on what you have of more on-hand.  

On the left, the original Master Delegator gear gives a nice reduction to the time needed to upgrade, which can help you save on speed-ups.  

On the right, the purple Dark Delegator’s set also gives a reduction on time (but not as substantial), but more importantly each piece gives a dark RSS construction cost efficiency bonus, thus reducing your overall RSS cost to build.
