The holiday celebration in Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire continues with the introduction of a new game mechanic: new temporary Realm titles as rewards for events. In this article, we’ll break down the titles we’ve seen so far and make some educated guesses about potential future content.
Holiday Chickatrice and Monster Hunter
The Monster Hunter title was introduced with a new Realm monster: the Holiday Chickatrice. These appear to be normal chickatrices, with the exception that they potentially drop Inquisitor chests and items. Also, they’re wearing a little Santa hat.

Periodically there is an event to hunt them that grants the Monster Hunter Title to the winner. This title is a Realm title like the crystal titles that grants abilities, and belongs to the winner for 24 hours.
This is a ridiculously solid monster hunting title, and would have been great during previous monster hunting events. Unfortunately since the title itself comes from a monster-hunting event featuring the newest monster, it is unlikely to be a huge boon in this regard. Paired with the Beastmaster armor it is pretty solid as a short-term monster hunting boost though, especially if the winner has MP items handy.
The stats for the Monster Hunter title are:
- +300% hero attack bonus
- +25% hero critical hit
- +10,000 hero max MP limit
- +25% MP recovery
Highroller Title
The Highroller title is periodically available from a special Casino event. The winner (i.e. the person who spins the casino wheel the most times) gets the title. Additionally, this is a second chance to get a Chickatrice avatar by collecting all the puzzle pieces from the event.
The stats on the High Roller title are:
- +100 Treasury Max Deposit
- +100% Resource Vault Capacity Bonus
- +100% Crafting Luck
- +100% Loot Tile Gather Luck
The best parts of the high roller title are definitely the crafting luck and the loot tile gather luck; if you’ve been gifted with this title, now is the time to take a chance on that gear piece you have one gold mat for (although be prepared for it to still fall flat; +100% crafting luck does NOT guarantee a gold gear piece).
Dungeon Runner

The third title introduced so far is the Dungeon Runner title, gained from a special Proving Grounds event. The stats are:
- +100% Max Noctis MP Multiplier Bonus
- +100% Max Prompto MP Multiplier Bonus
- +200% Noctis Hero EXP Modifier
- +200% Prompto Hero XP Modifier
This one is a bit odd in that it grants additional max MP and Hero XP (temporarily, for the length of the title), which has nothing to do with the event you win it in.
Still, this is a solid title, and the Proving Grounds level for the event appears to be dropping mats from various sets. Also the top reward for this event aside from the title is excellent: a ton of specialized gear chests. The prizes for second and third place are also impressive.
This is definitely more relevant to high-level high-power players who are dropping packs for this, but the combination of 24 hours of increased XP (remember, it doesn’t apply to the purple items) and a giant load of gear chests is appealing.
Looking Forward
The new short-term titles are an interesting mechanic. They cost packs to get and they’re temporary, but they are potentially powerful. Also, given that the rewards for most of the associated events are substantial, if you were going for the top prize anyway the title is a nice bonus.
It’s likely we’ll see more of these temporary titles awarded for events, filling in gaps in the existing title structure. It will be interesting to see if they expand this mechanic to other new features. It’s very possible that we’ll see titles for things like the mercenaries or the new monster feature at some point down the line, which would be interesting given the strategic nature of those mechanics.
In any case, do be aware before going for these titles that they are temporary and will cost packs (and only one person gets the title), so if the rewards are not good enough for an event on their own you should not invest too heavily to get them. But if you do, take advantage of them while you have them.
