One of the most frequent questions asked amongst the community in Final Fantasy: A New Empire is “How do I increase my March Size?” Well, folks, look no further; you’ve come to the right place! While most of the time, it is the stats that make or break our game, our March Sizes give us some edge over our competition.

With that being said, in this guide, we will go in-depth into the areas where you can increase your March Size, whether it will be for your Dark Core, Elementals, Mercenaries, Monster, or Supplies.

When listing the various March Sizes, I will count them ONLY if they still pertain to the Dark World and are passive. However, if they are NOT passive but worthy of taking note, then I will indicate that they must be active for the boosts to apply.

For example, while March Size counted for T1-T10 Troops, they are invalid in the Dark World. Though, they are beneficial for your Supplies, which are essential to your gameplay.

Marches

As we can see throughout the game, there are different March Sizes forms; what do they mean to us in the Dark World?

March Size = Supplies

Dark March Size = Dark Core Troops

Monster March Size = Dark Monster Troops

Dark Elemental March Size = Dark Ice, Lightning, Earth, and Fire Troops

Mirror Hero March Size: Mirror Heroes

Dark Mercenary March Size = Dark Mech, Juggernauts, Airships, in addition to Guardians

When recording the March Sizes below, they will be at their current maxed level based on Server One. As this guide will regularly be updated in the future, they will include their release date and the increased stats if applicable.

Let’s go over your March Size and read the Troop Status for the Battle screen to start this guide.

What is my March Size, and where do I find/read this information?

Your March Size is the number of troops you can send collectively at an Empire, Neutral City, Crystal, Tiles, and so on in a solo attack form.

When figuring out your March Size, the most simplistic way to go about this would be to find the nearest Empire. When clicking on an enemy Empire, their information will pop up with the ability to select Profile, Scout, Rally, Attack, or Mark Target.

Attack/ March Size

Select the Attack button.

Reading the March Screen

March Size Screen

Once you choose the Attack button, you will see this screen pop up next. This is the easiest way to locate and figure out your March Size.

Let’s breakdown the sections and elaborate on what this signifies.

On the left side, from top to bottom:

  • Dark Troops
    • Mage, Calvary, plus Warriors
  • Dark Mercenaries
    • Juggernauts, Airships, Guardians, in addition to Mechs
  • Dark Elementals
    • Ice, Lightning, Fire, as well as Earth
  • Mirror Heroes
    • Mirror Hero: Noctis, Prompto, Luna, Ignis, Aranea, Gladio, Ravus, Cindy, Iris, King Noctis, Ardyn, King Regis, Gentiana, Veteran Prompto, Veteran Gladio, Veteran Ignis, Umbra, Pryna, Gilgamesh, Cor, as well as Glauca.
  • Supplies
    • Level one and two Mount, Astral, Mercenary, Elemental, Core Attack, in addition to Defense Supplies
    • Level one and two Mount, Astral, Mercenary, Elemental, along with Core Magical Supplies
  • Monster Troops
    • Monster Troops
    • Level one and two Dark Monster Troops

On the right side, from top to bottom:

  • Timer
    • It tells you how long it will take for your March to arrive at its destination before using any March Speed Ups.
  • Boost
    • The boost portion allows you to see the additional boost to your March, the green being yours and the red being the enemy’s debuff against you.
  • Loot
    • Let you know how much loot you can obtain from attacking or looting Resource/Expansion tiles.

Now that we have covered the basics let’s the breakdown where to build your March Size.

Citadel 250 maxes out at 300B Dark Core, Elemental, in addition to Mercenary March Size.

King of Luci’s benefits are passive, but ONLY if you have that particular one summoned, similar to Mounts. As of right now, Crepera and The Wise have March Size benefits.

Crepera is the first line in the King of Luci’s bloodline to have March Size bonuses.

Cores

Even though Cores are not passive, either there is a couple of Cores worth mentioning.

Stone of Fortitude Core that is useful for your Mercenaries. This particular Core contains an additional 250B Dark Mercenary March Size.

Dark Sorcery Core benefits your Elementals and contains a 259B Dark Elemental March Size boost.

Forts

When contested and under protection, forts from the Disputed Realm provide you AND your Guild with rewards from the time you own any to the time you lose them.

The Wise Fort

The Wise Forts were in the Disputed Realm Fort Invasion event the weekend the Wise was released.

Each player was able to claim up to four at a time. While also reaping in the benefits of their guildmates owning them. Remember, they stack!

The Wise Fort benefits:

*stats below are at maxed level and PER Fort.

Permanent Lifetime Boosts

Some of you guys may be wondering, even after all the boosts mentioned above, it still doesn’t match some of the higher spenders. Permanent Lifetime Boosts is likely what sets them apart from the rest.

Is it worth it? It depends on who you ask. If you are an attacker or a balanced player, then it’s something worth looking into. While it isn’t the only factor in battling, it plays a part in it and can make a difference based on whether you have the stats to back them up.

I will start recording Permanent Lifetime boosts that pertain to March Sizes from March 2020 forward.

Permanent Lifetime Boost: March Size

(April 10th, 2020)

  • 250B March Size
  • 200B Dark Toop, Elemental, in addition to Mercenary March Size
  • 4B Monster Troop March Size

(March 24th, 2020)

  • 50B March Size
  • 50B Dark Troop, Elemental, as well as Mercenary March Size

(June 12th, 2020)

  • 250B Dark Core, Elemental, and Mercenary Size
  • 250B March Size

Permanent Lifetime Boost: Dark Monster Troops

(March 13th, 2020)

  • 500M Monster Troops

How do Lifetime Boosts work?

When acquiring a Lifetime boost, remember that the same Lifetime Boosts DO NOT STACK with each other though they stack with the other releases prior and afterward.

For instance, the March 24th and April 10th Permanent Lifetime Boosts mentioned above, even though some are the same type, but they WILL stack with the other because it is a separate release.

If they stack somehow, it will be mentioned in the blog, such as the +1 Astral Per March boost. So if you decide to buy these boosts, make sure to double-check the blog to see whether they do or not.

The highest value that you obtain will be applied to your Empire.

For example, If you buy three packs and receive the 50B March Size 100B March Size, and 150B March Size, then the 150B March Size will take the place of the 50B and the 100B you previously bought as they do not stack within one another.

Additional ways to increase March Size

Lastly, are you adding up these numbers, and they’re still a little off? There might be a couple of areas that may explain why.

Consumable boosts such as +25% and +50% March Size will increase the number of Supplies you may send per March.

Additional boosts like Dark March Size, Dark Mercenary March Size, and Dark Elemental March Size vary from 50% to 500% and are typically used for 30 mins.

Also, have you thought of checking Gear Set Bonuses? Gear Set bonuses provide an additional boost to you for having a completed Gear Set. You do not have to wear the Gear to obtain these benefits. Check out which one pertains to your Marches.

  • 5M Dark March Size

March Size Consumable Boosts

Even though the consumable boosts are not passive, they are unquestionably worth mentioning since they can make a huge difference when attacking an enemy Empire or any Neutral City.

There are two different types of March increases you can make with the boosts at a time.

They do NOT stack, but you can use a March Size AND a Dark March-related march size boost.

March Size vs. Dark March Size

For example, you may use a 50% March Size (4 hours) and a +500% Dark Mercenary March Size Boost (30 Minutes) at the same time. You also may combine +500% Dark Mercenary March Size Boost (30 Minutes) and the +500% Dark March Size Boost (30 Minutes) at the same time. However, you cannot stack two of the same type, such as +300% Dark March Size (30 Minutes) and +500% Dark March Size (30 Minutes).

March Size can be used for Supplies, and the rest is self-explanatory.

Where can I find the March Size boost or Speed Ups?

There are various areas where you can acquire March Size boosts or Speed Ups for your marches.

  • Events
  • Proving Grounds
  • Diner Plates
  • Packs
  • Store/Guild Store
  • Gift Mode

March Size Boosts

For March Size boosts, you can find them in events, packs, and Proving Grounds.

Proving Grounds, Attack of the Flan

Attack of the Flan

Attack of the Flan Proving Grounds can reward you “25% March Size (4 Hour)”. If you are Pre-Dark World, this will benefit your Core Troops and Hero. If you are in the Dark World, then this will serve your Supplies as well as Hero.

Ignis Diner Plates

The Ignis Diner may not provide passive bonuses; however, they can be extremely beneficial to you. The higher your Diner, the longer your plates will be activated; for example, Level 35 Ignis Diner allows you to use the bonus for

Keep in mind that the Diner shows’ benefits are NOT a guarantee; it is a maxed allowed that you MAY get up to.

March Speed Ups

Pre-Dark World, we were able to obtain March Speed Ups as RvR Gifts; those were the days! As the majority of us are in the Dark World, they have been more challenging to acquire.

Events are starting to bring them back around, but if you need more, here are other locations where you can obtain them quickly besides packs.

Store/Guild Store

In your Items tab, you have the Store and the Guild Store. Select the Speed Ups tab, scroll down to the bottom.

In the Store, there is a “10% Dark March Speed Up” for 2,000 Dark Gemstones per item.

There is a “7% Dark March Speed Up” for 7,000 Loyalty per item as well as “25% March Speed Up” for 22,000 Loyalty in the Guild Store.

25% March Speed Up ONLY counts for Pre-Dark Core Troops, Supplies, and Heroes.

Gift Mode

In your Guild, you can gift some content. While it may not be the best, some of them can be useful.

Select the player’s profile you wish to send a gift to, then select the yellow Guild button under their avatar.

Player profile

It will lead you to the Gift Store, where you can choose a gift to send. Choose the Speed Ups portion, scroll down to the bottom, and then you will see three different Speed Ups that are giftable.

March Speed UPS

10% Dark March Speed Up for 2,000 Dark Gemstones

7% Dark March Speed Up for 7,000 Loyalty

25% March Speed Up for 22,000 Loyalty

Setting Up a March Preset

To set up a March Preset, you will need to enter the Training Grounds.

Once you are in the Training Grounds, you will see two tabs. Troops and March Preset.

Training Grounds March Size

Select the March Preset tab.

You will then see Slot 1 through 12. Select the slot you wish to use.

March Preset

Once you have selected the slot, you will see this screen at the top. You can name your slot; typically, you’d want to name it for the purpose you are using it for, for example, Rally Lead, Crystal, etc.

This particular row also tells you how many Astrals, Monsters, and Mirror Heroes you can choose. You will see two tabs, Troops and Monster Champions.

In the Troops tab, you can select your Hero, Mount, Astrals, and your Troops. The Troops will be based on a percentage number based on the various marches.

Mercenaries = Juggernaut, Airships, Mechs, and Guardians

Elementals = Fire, Earth, Ice, and Lightning

Dark Core Troops = Mage, Warrior, Siege, as well as Calvary

March Size = Pre Dark and Supplies

For example, if you want your March to have half Dark Juggernauts and Airship Mercenaries, you will need to make sure you apply 50% Juggernauts and 50% Dark Airships. Don’t worry about the numbers; it will do the math for you.

Then you can do this for Elementals, Core Troops, and your Supplies separately.

Mirror Heroes and Monsters will have their own March capabilities as well. Your Mirror Heroes will be based on numbers instead of percentages.

The Monster Champion tab will permit you to select the Monster Champions you’d like to use; keep in mind, they cannot be on your wall if you plan to send them in marches.

Honestly, thr is in my humble opinion, the most important guide this year, and maybe since dark world was introduced. I have shared it in my guild and they absolutely loved it. Please keep the hard work coming Rose!!!

March size doesn’t really matter anymore as people are just using mirror heros and either mercenary defense effects or core defense effects as their attack and were getting massacred average of 15 to 20 trillion dead with 1 march. How can so much damage be done with just that and no troops.
