  12. Basic VIP and Super VIP Points

With the release of Super VIP, we can see some great, permanent boosts for our empires. Troop attack, HP, and armor bonuses of over 500,000% increasing your march size, rally capacity, and troop train queue are just some of the benefits you can get with the upgraded levels of VIP. I’m starting this article with the basic level VIP of 61 since the last article ended with 60, so if you’re in a younger realm without this high of VIP, check out this article. I’ll list the amount of VIP and Super VIP that you need to acquire the next level and the great boosts that go with it. I’ll also show you some of the different ways to get VIP, although the easiest way is to buy it in a pack.

VIP Featured Unlocks

Since you’ve climbed the VIP ladder, you’ve already received many bonuses that are now permanent since you’re above level 55.

  • Your VIP status in the chat bar
  • VIP quest streak (when will they update the prizes?!)
  • Autocomplete both hero and VIP quests
  • Item search
  • Battle report sharing
  • Open multiple guild gifts
  • Combine to target level (gems, mats)
  • Free gem removal
  • VIP Moogle rewards (increases the amount of Moogle tokens in a pack)
  • Instant guild helps (Luna helps)
  • Unlock invader chibi marches
  • Permanent VIP

Many of these are things we couldn’t imagine living without now. I don’t know how many times I was teased for not being able to share my battle reports with the guild because I was a lowly VIP 14 for the LONGEST TIME EVER. I remember being able to search for items in my inventory instead of scrolling and scrolling… then the screen pops back up to the top after all that work. It was a very nice quality of life improvement!

Where to Find VIP

In the early game, the Casino gave enough VIP for you to squirrel away for your next level. Then came the Secret Chests with their corresponding Secret Keys to unlock them. You needed 10 of these keys to unlock one chest, and the players with Luna unlocked and her coveted double Luna gifts were able to unlock even more of these chests. Even though I didn’t have Luna, I was able to get enough VIP to unlock up to VIP 14 with these chests. Eventually, even the millions provided by these chests just didn’t cut it anymore. That, and the fact that they stopped giving away the keys!

More recent, however, we have had a lot of events that gave away high amounts of VIP. Troop train events, special holiday events, and the awesome Niflheim Research Facilities. Even the most steadfast of free to play were able to raise their VIP to permanent levels from all these free VIP events.

Niflheim Research Facilities

These neutral empires drop large amounts of VIP, Super VIP, and Data Crystals. Data crystals are used with basic VIP to craft Super VIP in the Magitek Converter. These come out when you get the ability to unlock Super VIP at level 101, so you can convert your basic VIP into the Super VIP needed to level up to 101+. Keep in mind that the Data Crystals are hard to come by, so don’t overload on basic VIP if you don’t have Super VIP in your realm yet. The neutral empires are easy to beat if you have a decent empire, and not too hard to get at least a few levels of VIP on a farm if you are so inclined. At high levels of basic VIP and Super VIP, the Niflheim empires don’t drop enough to make a difference, but for those who aren’t buying VIP, it helps out.

Buying Packs

This is the “easiest” way to get VIP, but not many people find it easy to part with their hard earned money. This makes VIP levels a status symbol in the chats. You know someone is going to have something good hidden in their empire if they have a relatively high VIP level compared to everyone else in the realm. This is what makes a player a VIP in the true sense of the phrase. When new levels come out, it does take a few packs to achieve the highest levels, so don’t worry if you can’t get it right away. Sometimes waiting for a bit gives great rewards in the form of packs with lots of sweet VIP. Don’t wait too long, though, since the day after I finally cracked to get VIP in a pack, they offered it in a free event. Ahh well, such is life!

Consider using Amazon Coin to buy packs to make them even cheaper!

Levels 61-70

This is where hero presets become unlocked. You can set two presets for Noctis, Prompto, Luna, Ignis, Aranea, and Gladio. With the presets, you can automatically change hero gear to a customized gear preset that you set up in the hero screen. This comes in handy when you have different attack gear for different setups, or for just changing from monster to defense gear. I like having my max MP monster gear and a “fast” gear for hitting the Moogle monsters! (I swap to my fast gear so my hero comes back from the monster fast! March speed gems and the Winged Assassin’s accessories increase hero march speed too.)

Other boosts like march size, troop stat bonuses, gathering speeds, and resource production are increased with each level.

Levels 71-80

In these new levels, you will see boosts for newer game features available to you, such as production from empire expansions and monster hatching stone luck. At VIP level 80 you get to unlock Item Breaking. This is where you can break certain items to get iron scraps. Iron scraps are used to upgrade gear in the Mythic Forge. Your training queue also goes up more in these levels to make it quicker to train all the troops you need during an attacking spree or a troop train event. The amount of VIP needed surpasses the 500 trillion mark in these levels, so it’s not an easy feat to climb this high when it first comes out!

Levels 81-90

When you get these levels unlocked, you will see Elite resource production increased, as well as some extra presets for your heroes and a new preset for the Hero Ravus. VIP 90 unlocks the weekly VIP 90 Super Sale. Once a week you will see a pack for your VIP Super Sale, and most of the time it’s not worth buying it because you can see better events due to events or holidays, or even combo packs. But sometimes you can see an irresistible pack that is made for the most elite of VIPs.

Levels 91-100

These will be the last levels that you will use your basic VIP points to level up. It’s in these levels that you will see the first Weekly Moogle Token Bonuses. This will give you more Moogle tokens in your packs once a week. The normal amount in a pack is 100 tokens, and this bonus will increase that by a percentage that you can use once a week. This comes in handy when you want to unlock more of the Moogle Merchant levels when buying a pack, or more of the treasure chests that sometimes show up when you buy packs. You also get a Cindy Preset to unlock, and the troop HP, armor, and attack bonuses start getting higher. Your elite resource production also increases. But do we really even depend on resource production anymore…?

VIP 100 is where the older realms stayed for quite a while, so expect a little bit of a wait before Super VIP comes out. But, you never know with how fast younger realms have been moving, you might not have that long of a wait before you unlock the amazing boosts at the 101+ levels!

Super VIP 101-110

Congratulations! You have unlocked Super VIP! You’re on your way to even higher stat boosts and new benefits. Majestic production is increased with 101+ levels as well as even more hero gear presets and even more march size increases. Super VIP is important when it comes out because these stats are better than most of the other boosts that you can get. Eventually, it gets replaced by gear, but VIP will always make a comeback and you can’t deny that permanent boosts available to your empire are always appreciated. This is where the Niflheim empires start showing up in your realm, so be prepared to annihilate them with a fierceness to unlock as many VIP levels as you can.

Super VIP 111-120

You will see more increases in stats and new features are unlocked. Iris finally gets a preset and your rally capacity is increased. There is a new feature called Smart Troop Training System that only allows you to train as many troops as you have the resources for. This is currently unhelpful if you don’t have enough of the special materials required for training t7+ troops. You can turn this off in your settings. Go to the More tab at the bottom left of your screen, then Options towards the bottom of that menu, then unclick the “Smart Troop Training System” checkmark on the top of the Options menu. Then you can go ahead and instant train with platinum/diamonds again. I only find this feature useful if you are training a bunch of lower level troops for an event and don’t want to mistakenly train a bunch of t8/t9 (bye bye platinum and diamonds!). Maybe in the future, these special materials will be supplied as much as other resources are.

Another feature unlock is Gem Presets. This allows you to have different presets with your gems, so you can change them just like you change your gear. Useful in the same way since you can customize your gems to your attack/defense styles that you use. Early adopters of the higher levels of VIP will surely benefit from the boosts available. So, be sure to grab yours as soon as you can!

Super VIP 121-130

The last Super VIP levels available before the Dark World is released. New features you will see are +20 more guild helps. This is important when your building and research is quite costly in speeds. Another is free Rally Commissions. Because of the larger rally march sizes, you will need even more guildmates to join in. So this will save your precious loyalty if you’ve run out of Rally Commissions and need to join in a rally. Next, and probably the most requested new feature is auto-complete Guild Quests!! No more timers for your quests. So you can forget about them until you need to collect them. Maybe for an event or two? Lastly, the newest feature brought to you by the new VIP levels is 100% all Grandiose resource production. Considering your needs are higher than ever, this probably is just a drop in the bucket.

Additional features over previous VIP levels is +10 Instant Guild helps. This will help if you are impatient and just want to speed through your research and builds with speedups. More Troop Attack, Armor and HP. These are always useful and what make VIP levels very important. Also increasing your march and rally sizes as well as speeding up your marches and adding a whopping FIVE more march presets! At these levels, it’s amazing what you can do when you add up your VIP.

Please upgrade list to show how many Super VIP points are needed to get to Level 130.

    Your list stops at 120.

is there any way to combine my stacks of vip or break them up? For instance, dark world just came out and for dark world crystals, I could convert stacks of 100 super vip or 1 billion super vip for dark world vip. However, I have a ton of 5 million super vip that are useless and no trade ins for those. Thanks
