In Final Fantasy: A New Empire, various Monsters and Realm Bosses come our way, and it’s up to the Realm to fight together to defeat the Monsters! The Hunter’s Gear set is designed to implement damage on Monsters and Realm Bosses to collect goods for your Empire.
First, let’s break down Hunter’s Gear and their corresponding stats and see how they benefit us when attacking Realm Bosses.
Hunter’s Gear
Like the previous beginner gear sets, each Hunter piece requires specific materials to forge, which can be done in the Armory.
The Hunter’s Gear is slightly different because each of the pieces requires different Hero levels, while the Sentinel and Arbiters need one specific Hero level for all of them to be forged.
Sentinel’s Gear set requires your Hero to be level 30 to craft and equip, and Hunter’s varies by piece. The pieces unlock as your Hero grows, and they will be listed below as we investigate the stats for each gear piece and indicate the materials they each need.
Hunter’s Gaze
The Hunter’s Gaze headpiece gives your Hero further Troop Armor while also increasing the damage caused on your Realm Boss and Monster hits.
Realm Bosses are PvE (Player versus Environment) Monsters, such as the Cactuar, that you can use MP from your Hero to hit. They typically are located south of the Crystal onto the Scar. Monsters, such as Garula and Flans, are found throughout the Realm. Those can be hit anytime for loot and/or events.
Hero requirement level 16
Hunter’s Gaze stats:
- 73% Troop Armor Bonus
- 3.6% Hero Critical Hit
- 730 Max MP
Hero Critical Hit increases the damage inflicted PER hit when striking the Realm Boss and Monsters. Damage performed is especially good when events that depend on accumulating points based on damage or kills and not points based on hits.
For example, the Carefree Cactuar events we have had lately state, “Deal damage to an Enraged Cactuar,” therefore, the more Critical Hit, Hero Attack, Streaks per Attack, etc., will increase your damage PER hit on the Realm Boss.
Max MP is a supplementary MP that is added to your base MP Bar. If you remove the pieces that grant the MP, they will be removed from the MP Bar. MP is an essential item that will continue to be relevant in the future, even up to the current server one.
For example, if your Noctis MP Bar is 10,500 and you apply Hunter’s Gaze, it will increase to 11,230.
As mentioned above, it isn’t a passive item, so when you remove the piece, the MP will then go away. If your MP Bar is completed and you remove the item, the MP Bar will decrease back to its original state, and you will lose out on the MP accumulated when the piece was on. Make sure to use the MP before removing the piece, so it doesn’t go to waste!
Hunter’s Gaze materials:
- Bluestone Shard
- Bronze
- Glass
- Sahagin Scale
Hunter’s Carapace
The Hunter’s Carapace Body Armor continues to provide Troop Armor along with Additional Streak per Attack benefits.
Hero requirement level 22
Hunter’s Carapace stats:
- 91% Troop Armor Bonus
- 2 Additional Streak per Attack
- 730 Max MP
Each time your Hero attacks a Realm Boss or Monster, it increases the Streak Level, which provides a buff bonus and causes more damage per hit. This does not affect the loot being dropped.
Let’s say you have 6 Hero Streaks, and you gain one Streak Level per hit. The Additional Streak per Attack will increase the level PER hit until you reach your max. So in the example above, using the Carapace Body Armor, you will gain an additional 2 per level instead of 1 until you reach your maximum.
Hunter’s Carapace materials:
- Bluestone Shard
- Bronze
- Hardened Hide
- Sahagin Scale
Hunter’s Tracks
The Hunter’s Tracks footwear adds additional Troop HP benefits while decreasing its time to arrive at the Monsters or Lair.
Hero requirement level 13
Hunter’s Tracks stats:
- 11% Troop HP Bonus
- 18% Gathering March Speed Bonus
- 35% Hero Monster March Speed Bonus
Gathering March Speed decreases the time it takes to arrive when collecting Resource or the Monster Lair tiles. The Gathering March Speed does not affect your Loot amounts.
Hero Monster March Speed reduces the time it takes for your Hero to arrive at the Monster or Realm Boss to attack.
Hunter’s Tracks materials:
- Bronze
- Hardened Hide
- Sahagin Scale
Hunter’s Shears
The Hunter’s Shears weapon boosts your Hero with Hero Attack, MP, and Loot Tile Gather Speed.
Hero requirement level 10
Hunter’s Shears stats:
- 10% Hero Attack Bonus
- 1,160 Max MP
- 15% Loot Tile Gather Speed
Hero Attack increases the damage per hit and is only applicable to anything that requires MP, such as Realm Bosses and Monsters.
Loot Tile Gather Speed decreases the time it takes to gather on a Resource or Monster Tile. This bonus does not affect the amount it loots nor the march speed.
Hunter’s Shears materials:
- Bluestone Shard
- Bronze
- 2x Treant Branch
Hunter’s Insignia
The Hunter’s Insignia accessory increases your MP.
Hero requirement level 19
Hunter’s Insignia stats:
- 1,450 Max MP
Keep in mind that you can apply up to three! (the third being when your Armory reaches level 20) Therefore you can gain up to 4,350 additional MP to add to your MP Bar!
Hunter’s Insignia materials:
- 2x Bluestone Shard
- Glass
- Hardened Knife
Crafting Materials
As you can see above, each piece needs various materials to craft; this can be done through the Armory.
The first tab, ‘Craft,’ will lead you to the crafting recipes section in the Armory, where you can choose whether you would like to craft a Helmet, Body Armor, Footwear, Weapon, or Accessories. Each Gear Set consists of seven pieces, one of each including three Accessories.
As an example in this guide, we will use Hunter’s Shears (Weapon).
Armory>Craft>Weapon
You will then scroll down until you see Hunter’s Shears.
Once you have discovered it, you will be able to view the stats, hero level requirement, Gil cost, and the materials you need to craft it.
The percentage bar above the stats shows you your chances of getting that quality from basic to legendary. The further to the right, the better.
- Black – Basic (Level 1)
- Grey – Common (Level 2)
- Green – Uncommon (Level 3)
- Blue – Rare (Level 4)
- Purple – Epic (Level 5)
- Gold – Legendary (Level 6)
You can also tap on the colors to see what the stats will look like at those levels.
Below the Gil cost, you can see what materials are needed to build the piece. The higher the quality, the better; sometimes, it is worth the wait, especially if you’re willing to grind for it.
Where can I find Hunter’s Materials?
There are a few locations where you can gather Hunter Materials.
In the Guild Store treasures section, Hunter Chests are purchasable with 50,000 Loyalty. There are also Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Material Chests in the Guild Store; it does not guarantee Hunters Materials, but you may have a chance.
Hunter Material Chests are also given through Guild Gifts when completing Guild-related events and tier rewards!
Aside from the materials, each piece will necessitate 8,500 Gil, totaling 59,500 Gil, to craft seven pieces to create a set.
Combining Materials
There is a ‘Combine’ tab in your Armory that allows you to combine Gems and Materials.
Armory>Combine>Materials
To increase the quantities of your pieces, you will need to combine the materials. Each level requires four of the same type and quantity level to go to the next level.
For example, you will need four level two Bluestone Shard materials to forge one level three Bluestone Shard. Then four level threes to make one level four, etc.
To figure out the number of materials you need cumulatively to Legendary, multiply by the factor of four from the previous level.
Total of level one materials needed:
- 4 level one materials for Common
- 16 level one materials for Uncommon
- 64 level one materials for Rare
- 256 level one materials for Epic
- 1,024 level one materials for Legendary
