In Final Fantasy: A New Empire, MP has been our liquid gold since day one and remains one of the most valuable content we have today. We need to hoard to justify the Realm Boss and PvE Moogle Market events at this stage in the game.

Unfortunately, as much as we would all like to have our former Realm Boss MP per hit requirements from the pre-dark world, we are cautious and conserve our MP for the appropriate events that benefit us the most. Lately, we have been on the PvE Monster and Moogle Market train since it allows us to choose the content we need to suit our gameplay. The MP scarce has made it essential for us to stash through events, Hero Magitek Chests, and the Gold Store.

In this guide, we will cover:

  • Monster Executioner Gear Pieces and why they benefit us
  • Gear Set Bonus, Upgrading, Powering Up, Gear Set Leveling along with charts!
  • Comparing and breaking down Monster Executioner to Dark Monster Slayer
  • MP Bar differences and how much MP you can save!
  • What to read next and the latest guides at the Hub
  • Join our conversation!

Firstly, let’s break down the Monster Executioner pieces one by one!

Monster Executioner Gear Pieces

Monster Executioner Gear

(December 29th, 2020)

While the amount of MP the latest monster gear increases by may seem off-putting, it does come with MP reductions, which can be beneficial when using “Choose your own” MP and utilizing it on Realm Bosses PvE Monsters to get the most bang for your buck.

As with most Gear Sets, all the pieces have associated benefits that accumulate to a remarkable boost when worn together.

The stats below are at the Legendary level unless noted otherwise.

Monster Executioner Gear Boost PER Piece

Each of the pieces contains MP and MP Recovery.

Monster Executioner boost PER piece:

  • 420M Max MP
  • 35B% MP Recovery

All seven gear pieces will give you a total of 2.94B MP and 245B% MP Recovery BEFORE Gear Set Bonus, Powering Up, and Gear Set Leveling.

Monster Executioner Helmet

The Monster Executioner Helmet increases your Hero’s Critical Hit.

Monster Executioner Helmet:

  • 10% Hero Critical Hit

Critical Hit is the amount of damage inflicted upon the Monster or Realm Boss. It benefits you when events require points for damage imposed and points for kills instead of per hit.

Monster Executioner Body Armor

The Body Armor grants you an Additional Streak per Attack.

Monster Executioner Body Armor:

  • 84 Additional Streak per Attack

Additional Streak per Attack allows you to increase the Hero Attack Streak in jumps of 84. This boost and the Hero Attack Streak will be particularly vital with the damage points and killing Monsters.

Example:

Kingsglaive Gladiolus contains 132 Hero Attack Streak.

Between Cores and other passive boosts, there are additionally 73

Giving you a total of 205 maxed Hero Attack Streak

Before gear piece, you hit a boss and gain 7 Hero Attack Streaks per hit.

After applying Body Armor, hitting the Monster will increase 91 per hit until you reach 205

(7 Hero Attack Streak + 84 Additional Streak per Attack, BEFORE other factors)

*these numbers are at random and do not reflect real stats; this is purely an example to reflect how Additional Hero Streak per Attack works.

Monster Executioner Footwear

The boots contain MP Cost Reduction! Reducing MP cost is essential when using “Choose your own” MP and getting the most of them when hitting PvE Monsters and Realm Bosses.

MP Cost Reduction reduces the amount of MP per hit.

While this particular set may seem off-putting with the slight MP Bar increase, the MP Cost Reduction makes up for the lack of and provides us more hits with our MP, the perfect balance.

Monster Executioner Footwear:

  • 4% MP Cost Reduction

Again, don’t fret! 4% is more than it seems! MP differences will be shown later in this guide.

Monster Executioner Weapon

The weapon benefits your Hero Attack Bonus.

Monster Executioner Weapon:

  • 224,000% Hero Attack

Monster Executioner Accessory

Accessories provide further Hero Attack Streak. Hero Attack Streak is similar to Critical Hit, increasing damage per hit. However, only as long as you do not switch Heroes or Monsters the next turn. If you need Hero or Gear EXP, Hero Attack Streak is a great way to accumulate EXP.

Monster Executioner Accessory:

  • 4 Hero Attack Streak

12 Hero Attack Streak when all three accessories are worn

Hero Attack Streak and Additional Attack per Streak go hand to hand. Hero Attack Streak is the TOTAL amount your Streak can increase to at most. Additional Attack per Streak is the increased PER level until it reaches the max Hero Attack Streak amount.

Gear Set Bonus

In the Mythic Forge, you will see a Set Gear Bonuses section (1st tab). A Set Bonus is activated as soon as you earn every Gear Piece in the Set required in the row. The bonus will be determined by the lowest level piece you own. For example, if you have one Epic piece and the rest are Rare, you will receive the Rare Set Bonus. You do not have to wear the Gear for the bonus to be active, as it is passive.

To get the Gear Set Bonus, you must have one gear piece mentioned above and the three accessories.

  • 60 Additional Streak per Attack
  • 25B% MP Recovery
  • 10% Hero Critical Hit
  • 300M Max MP
  • 6 Hero Attack Streak
  • 160,000% Hero Attack

Upgrading, Powering Up, and Gear Set Leveling

Monster Executioner Materials

Check the Mythic Forge to Upgrade, Power Up, and level up your Gear benefits further.

Upgrading

Use the Monster Executioner Sigil of Quality to upgrade the gear pieces individually from uncommon to gold.

Sigil of Quality Chart

Monster Gear

Powering Up

Use Monster Executioner Power Up Material after the pieces have reached their Legendary status to power up the gear pieces from level one to ten.

Power Up Chart

Power Up

Gear Set Leveling

Last but not least, use Monster Executioner Set Leveling Material to level up Gear Set Leveling up to 100.

Keep in mind when activating Gear Set Leveling boosts, you only need one of each item, including the accessory.

Gear Set Bonus:

  • 60 Additional Streak per Attack
  • 90B% MP Recovery
  • 60% Hero Critical Hit
  • 1.2B Max MP
  • 12 Hero Attack Streak
  • 960,000% Hero Attack Bonus

How Does It Compare?

It all comes down to the fact, is this set worthy? Is it any more beneficial than the last Monster Gear Set? We will compare the Monster Executioner Gear set with the previous released Dark Monster Slayer.

Afterward, let’s break down the MP differences and pieces to point out which ones you should reflect on upgrading if you are limited to your selections to prioritize based on your gameplay preferences.

Monster Executioner vs. Dark Monster Slayer MP and MP Recovery

Since the Gear has the same Max MP and MP Recovery per piece, this portion is easier for comparison.

Dark Monster Slayer Gear Boost PER piece

  • 140M Max MP
  • 3.15B% MP Recovery

Monster Executioner Gear Boost PER Piece

  • 420M Max MP
  • 35B% MP Recovery

While 420M MP per piece isn’t a large increase to your MP Bar for the amount of MP we need, every bit adds up. Monster Executioner contains 3xs the MP PER Gear Piece, and this is BEFORE factoring into Gear Set Bonus and Gear Set Leveling.

The Monster Executioner also has just over 11xs the MP Recovery per gear piece; again, while the MP Bar isn’t a drastic increase, the MP Recovery makes a substantial difference when acquiring MP.

Blue Monster Executioner vs. Legendary Monster Slayer MP and MP Recovery

Now the next question would be, when does the MP and MP Recovery start improving? Let’s check out Monster Executioner in Blue for comparison.

Dark Monster Slayer Gear Boost PER piece

  • 140M Max MP
  • 3.15B% MP Recovery

Monster Executioner Gear Boost PER Piece

*stats are at Rare (blue – level 4)

  • 185M Max MP
  • 4.4B% MP Recovery

Upon release night, you can ALMOST acquire a better set with one pack alone based on the information above. The pack contained Uncommon Monster Executioner Gear Set right out the gate and included a 1.05M Monster Executioner Sigil of Quality. As we have seen in the chart above, it takes 366,667 Sigils of Quality, which is enough for at least two pieces to be upgraded to Rare.

Since release night packs usually contain a minimal amount of new content, there will be BOGO packs featuring the latest releases with more value within the next two or three days.

MP Bar Differences

Swarzy has graciously sent screenshots of MP Bar differences for comparison with the MP Cost Reduction the Dark Monster Slayer Weapon and the Monster Executioner Boots provide.

Keep in mind; the Realm Boss requires 249,999 MP per hit with no MP Cost Reduction.

With the Dark Monster Slayer, the MP per hit reduces to 209,302.

MP

The next few screenshots below will be Monster Executioner Boots at different levels along with the Dark Monster Slayer Weapon.

Monster Executioner Boots at Legendary (Gold).

MP

MP

MP Cost Reductions are significant when using “Choose your own” MP, to make the most of it. The Dark Monster Slayer Weapon and Monster Executioner Boots at Legendary and powered up to five allows you to use almost 1.4x less MP per hit, allowing you to use more MP per hit.

MP savings with Realm Boss

Let’s break down an example on a smaller scale to make it more readable to show how much you can save with the MP Cost Reduction.

Realm Boss Event needs 200,000 points to complete the event.

Each hit grants you 1 point per hit on the Realm Boss.

Realm Boss is 249,999 MP per hit with no MP Cost Reduction.

You will then need 49,999,800,000 MP to complete the event.

Realm Boss is 209,302 MP per hit with Legendary Dark Monster Slayer Weapon.

You will then need 41,860,400,000 MP to complete the event.

Realm Boss is 174,418 per hit with Legendary  Dark Monster Slayer Weapon and Legendary Powered Up to 5 Monster Execution Boots.

You will then need 34,883,600,000 MP to complete the event.

Overall you are saving 15,116,200,000 MP.

Imagine how much more you would save on a larger scale and how much more PvE Tokens you can accumulate by reducing your MP costs. 15T for every 100T.

MP Recovery

With the Monster Executioner Gear at Legendary, Powered Up to four (weapon at five), and Gear Set Leveling at 14, it takes 16 minutes to fill a 2T MP Bar!
