In the Final Fantasy series, Sentinels are defensive specialists. They are known to provide interference, drawing the opponent toward themselves and then using their enhanced defense to depreciate damage.

In Final Fantasy: A New Empire, when your Hero reaches level 30, you can craft and equip the Sentinel Gear Set. The Sentinel Gear Set provides your Hero with plentiful Troop Armor and some Trap Attack specialties while increasing your ability to collect and loot more Resources, making it great for defense.

Sentinel Gear

Sentinel Gear

Each Sentinel piece requires specific materials to forge, which can be done in the Armory, covered later in the guide. First, let’s break down the stats for each gear piece and indicate the materials they each need.

Sentinel’s Watch

The Sentinel’s Watch headpiece equips you with Troop Armor.

Troop Armor is invaluable to have early in the game to offset your opponent’s Troop Attack bonuses.

Sentinel’s Watch stats:

  • 249% Troop Armor Bonus

Sentinel’s Watch materials:

  • 2x Bronze
  • Chrome Bit
  • Garula Fur

Sentinel’s Plate

The Sentinel’s Plate body armor increases your Troop Armor, Troop Load, and Trap Attack.

Sentinel’s Plate stats:

  • 207% Troop Armor Bonus
  • 16% Troop Load
  • 8% Trap Attack

Troop Load increases the quantities of loot your Troops can carry from Tiles and looting Resources from attacking an Empire.

Trap Attack improves the damage perpetrated on your enemy Troops from your Wall Defenses, aka Traps on your Wall.

Sentinel’s Plate materials:

  • Bronze
  • Chrome Bit
  • Garula Fur
  • Mystic Dye

Sentinel’s Greaves

The Sentinel’s Greaves footwear provides your Hero with more Troop Armor and boosts your Troop Load.

Sentinel’s Geaves stats:

  • 168% Troop Armor Bonus
  • 10% Troop Load

Sentinel’s Greaves materials:

  • Bronze
  • Chrome Bit
  • Garula Fur
  • Spider Silk

Sentinel’s Auto Crossbow

The Sentinel’s Auto Crossbow weapon continues to give more Troop Armor along with Trap Attack benefits.

Sentinel’s Auto Crossbow stats:

  • 73% Troop Armor Bonus
  • 41% Trap Attack

Sentinel’s Auto Crossbow materials:

  • 2x Chrome Bit
  • 2x Treant Branch

Sentinel’s Accessories

Sentinel has three different accessories you can choose or mix from. Each of the three accessories has minor variations but can make all the difference when mixing them up.

Sentinel’s Belt

The Sentinel’s Belt accessory provides Troop HP and Armor benefits, along with increasing your troop load when gathering or looting.

Sentinel’s Belt stats:

  • 20% Troop HP Bonus
  • 27% Troop Armor Bonus
  • 16% Troop Load

Sentinel’s Belt materials:

  • Chrome Bit
  • Garula Fur
  • Hardened Hide
  • Spider Silk

Sentinel’s Aegis

Of the three accessories, the Sentinel’s Aegis has the most Troop Armor.

Sentinel’s Aegis stats:

  • 125% Troop Armor Bonus

Sentinel’s Aegis materials:

  • Bronze
  • 2x Chrome Bit
  • Hardened Hide

Sentinel’s Gauntlet

The Gauntlet is similar to the Belt in stats, but instead of Troop HP, the accessory gives Trap Attack.

Sentinel’s Gauntlet stats:

  • 53% Troop Armor Bonus
  • 16% Troop Load and Trap Attack

Sentinel’s Gauntlet materials:

  • Chrome Bit
  • Garula Fur
  • Hardened Hide
  • Mystic Dye

Crafting Materials

As you can see above, each piece needs Sentinel materials to craft; this can be done through the Armory.

The first tab, ‘Craft,’ will lead you to the crafting recipes section in the Armory, where you can choose whether you would like to craft a Helmet, Body Armor, Footwear, Weapon, or Accessories. Each Gear Set consists of seven pieces, one of each including three Accessories.

Craft

As an example in this guide, we will use the Sentinel’s Watch (Helmet).

Armory>Craft>Helmets

You will then scroll down until you see the Sentinel’s Watch.

Once you have located it, you will be able to view the stats, hero level requirement, Gil cost, and the materials you need to craft it.

The percentage bar above the stats shows you your chances of getting that quality from basic to legendary. The further to the right, the better.

Stats bar

  • Black – Basic (Level 1)
  • Grey – Common (Level 2)
  • Green – Uncommon (Level 3)
  • Blue – Rare (Level 4)
  • Purple – Epic (Level 5)
  • Gold – Legendary (Level 6)

You can also tap on the colors to see what the stats will look like at those levels.

Blue Sentinel

Below the Gil cost, you can see what materials are needed to build the piece. The higher the quality, the better; sometimes, it is worth the wait, especially if you’re willing to grind for it.

Where can I find Sentinel Materials?

There are a few locations where you can gather Sentinel Materials.

In the Guild Store treasures section, Sentinel Chests are purchasable with 100,000 Loyalty.

Sentinel Chests

There are also Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Material Chests in the Guild Store; it does not guarantee Sentinel Materials, but there is a chance that you may.

You can also hit the Garula Monsters and loot the Garula Lair Tiles.

Aside from the materials, each piece will need 79,200 Gil, totaling 554,400 Gil, to craft seven pieces to create a set.

Combining Materials

There is a ‘Combine’ tab in your Armory that allows you to combine Gems and Materials.

Combine

Armory>Combine>Materials

Materials

To increase the quantities of your pieces, you will need to combine the materials. Each level requires four of the same type and quantity level to go to the next level.

For example, you will need four level two Bronze materials to forge one level three Bronze. Then four level threes to make one level four, etc.

Combining materials

Combining

Level 3

To figure out the number of materials you need cumulatively to Legendary, multiply by the factor of four from the previous level.

Total of level one materials needed:

  • 4 level one materials for Common
  • 16 level one materials for Uncommon
  • 64 level one materials for Rare
  • 256 level one materials for Epic
  • 1,024 level one materials for Legendary
