Niflheim raided Tenebrae; regardless of Noctis and Regis fleeing, Luna chose to stay behind to be with Ravus, her brother. Tenebrae fell under Niflheim’s control, and Luna was held captive.

Twelve years after Tenebrae’s invasion, the Niflheim Empire proposes peaceful terms to Lucis; as part of these terms, Luna was to marry Noctis in Altissia. As King Regis sends Crowe to bring Luna there, she is forced back to her room when she attempts to leave by Ravus. Aldercapt then brings Luna to Insomnia to be removed from Nifheim’s control and then escorted by Nyx to the Citadel. Luna finds out what happens to Crowe and receives the Hairpin meant to be given to her.

Next…

Luna is confronted by Glauca to see if the peace treaty was legit, then imprisons her. The Kingsglaive make their way to rescue her only to find out it was a trap. Nyx accompanied Luna by hijacking the Airship after escaping Ultros. Luna demands to be returned to the Citadel as the Imperials claim the Crystal; against Nyx’s wishes, Luna jumps off the Airship to be caught by Nyx, who follows her. As they arrive at the throne room, seeing Glauca in battle with Regis, Glauca removes the Ring of Lucii from Regis to leave it behind to finish his revenge. Ravus puts the ring on and burns. As Luna. Regis and Nyx escape; Regis gives Luna a ring to pass on to Noctis as he gets killed by Glauca.

Because of King Regis’ death, Nyx no longer can use magic. They also realize at this point that Luna’s Hairpin is a tracer and destroys it. They planned to meet Titus Drautos, the Kingsglaive leader and were approached by Lucha Lazarus, the traitor who killed Crowe. Luna tricks Luche into wearing the ring to remove it from his corpse. As Drautos arrives, he gets hit by a car by Libertus Ostium as Drautos reveals himself as Glauca. To protect herself from Glauca, she attempts to wear the ring, and Nyx stops her and wears it himself to find out he was deemed worthy of the ring.

In Final Fantasy: A New Empire, she comes to us in aid to escape to the city and puts on her new Unrivaled Dominion Gear to ‘gear up’ for battle!

Unrivaled Dominion Gear Pieces

Unrivaled Dominion

(September 22nd, 2020)

The Unrivaled Dominion Gear is destined to reduce your opponents’ bonuses while benefiting your Elementals, Mercenaries, and Astrals. This Gear is also the first to contain Royal Dark stats.

Royal Dark stats add onto pre-existing Dark stats on a 1%:1T% basis.

So if you have 100% Royal Dark Troop Attack, it is equivalent to 100T% Dark Troop Attack.

Like the last several Gear sets, all the pieces have associated benefits that accumulate to a remarkable boost and have their advantages.

Unrivaled Dominion Gear Boost PER Piece

*stats are at level 6 (Legendary) PER gear piece

  • 200% Royal Dark Mercenary Attack, HP, as well as Armor

Gear Set Bonus

In the Mythic Forge, you will see a Set Gear Bonuses section (1st tab). A Set Bonus is activated as soon as you acquire every Gear Piece in the Set required in the row. The bonus will be determined by the lowest level piece you own. So if you have one Epic piece and the rest are Uncommon, you will get the Uncommon Set Bonus. Keep in mind that you do not have to wear the Gear for the bonus to be active, as it is passive.

  • 30% Dark Earth, Ice, and Lightning Specialty Resistance

How Does it Compare?

It all comes down to the fact, is this set worth it? Is it any more beneficial than the last several releases?

Legendary Unrivaled Dominion vs. Legendary Crowe

Unrivaled Dominion and Crowe have similar stats types PER piece. Therefore that section will make it easy for observation.

Unrivaled Dominion Gear Boost PER Piece

*stats are at level 6 (Legendary) PER gear piece

  • 500% Royal Dark Core Troop Attack, HP, and Armor
  • 200% Royal Dark Mercenary Attack, HP, as well as Armor
  • 50% Royal Dark Elemental Attack, HP, in addition to Armor

Crowe Gear PER piece:

*stats are at a legendary level

  • 100T% Dark Core, Elemental, as well as Mercenary Attack
  • 50T% Dark Core, Elemental, in addition to Mercenary HP
  • 150% Dark Core, Elemental, and Mercenary Armor

Again, remember 1% Royal Dark Stats is equal to 1T% Dark. So with that in mind, it is similar to 500T%, 200T%, and 50T%, giving you significantly higher benefits in most areas.

Some of the substantial boosts include:

  • 5xs Dark Core Troop Attack
  • 4xs Dark Mercenary Troop HP
  • 10xs Dark Core Troop HP

With that in mind, let’s analyze a Crowe legendary piece to a Basic (level one) Unrivaled piece to show even more discrepancy in another perspective.

Basic Unrivaled Dominion vs. Legendary Crowe

Unrivaled Dominion Gear Boost PER Piece

*stats are at level 1 (Basic) PER gear piece

  • 250% Royal Dark Core Troop Attack, HP, and Armor
  • 100% Royal Dark Mercenary Attack, HP, as well as Armor
  • 25% Royal Dark Elemental Attack, HP, in addition to Armor

Crowe Gear PER piece:

*stats are at a legendary level

  • 100T% Dark Core, Elemental, as well as Mercenary Attack
  • 50T% Dark Core, Elemental, in addition to Mercenary HP
  • 150% Dark Core, Elemental, and Mercenary Armor

As we can see above, Unrivaled Dominion Gear at Basic already supplies more prominent benefits besides Elemental Attack, HP, and Armor bonuses. But to be fair, Elementals haven’t been dominant lately.

Which pieces should I be using?

If you are limited to the pieces you can use and would like to prioritize the items to be more fitting for your gameplay or have the whole set for the Gear Set bonus but would like to focus on leveling specific gear pieces at a time, then check out what these pieces lean towards and why.

Helmet – Offense

  • Juggernauts and Fire Troops are more effective when attacking.
  • Dark City Assault inflicts damage onto your enemies’ Empire when marching.

Body Armor – Defense

  • Guardians and Earth Troops are more beneficial when defending.
  • Dark City Defense absorbs damage from being inflicted from your enemy when being hit.

Footwear – Balanced

  • Cripple HP, Armor Piercing, and Enemy Attack Resistance benefits you in multiple situations.

Weapon – Balanced

  • Mounts and Astrals aid you in numerous situations as well.

Accessory –

Seeker – Defense

  • While Shiva and Mount would assist in attacking, the Guardians would provide much more defensive capabilities.

Pendant – Offense

  • While Monster and Ifrit would help in both situations, the Airships are more beneficial in Offense.

Shield – Crystal

  • Mechs have no benefits but with the Crystal.

Unrivaled Dominion’s Accessories! – NEW!

Unrivaled Dominion Gear Set gets new Accessories, which hasn’t happened since the Ultimate Anniversary Gear days! There are four new Accessories, and they each have their distinctive attributes. Which Dominion Glaives should I be using?

Like every Gear set that is released, if you are restricted to the pieces you can use, we prioritize the items to fit your gameplay more. With that in mind, check out where these pieces lean towards and why.

Reaper Glaives – Balanced

  • Contains more generalized stats that contribute to both situations of your gameplay

Protective Reaper Glaives – Defense

  • City Defense, Guardians, and Earth Elemental benefits

Ferocious Reaper Glaives – Offense

  • City Assault, Juggernauts, Airships, as well as Fire Elemental bonuses

Arcane Reaper Glaives – Crystal/Vaults/Forts

  • Crystal, Mech, Lightning, and Ice Elemental Troops contribute to Crystal.
  • Fort benefits assist the Disputed Realm Fort events.
  • Vault stats aid you with your Vaults during Vault events and RvR that contain Vaults for points.
