Guide to Gilgamesh Level 200

Gilgamesh

At first glance, it might seem like Gilgamesh’s stats aren’t quite as good as they could be. But when you study the skills closely, you will see that the small numbers are Royal Dark stats! A 10,000 Royal Dark Troop Attack has the same attack as 10KT% Dark Troop Attack. In fact, you could say that the smaller Royal Dark stats are better since they don’t have debuffs against them (yet).

To see more of what Gilgamesh has to offer as you level him up to 200, keep on reading. There is also a handy Heroic and Mythic Medals chart included.

Gilgamesh Hero Skills

One of the first things I noticed was the fact that a lot of the skills are unlockable at level 101. However, the skills that are closer to the bottom have other prerequisites that need to be unlocked. Due to that, you will not be able to skill many of them right away. In fact, you will have to have Gilgamesh leveled up to 125 before you can get to any of his Royal Dark skills.

But, let’s not forget the Monster-hunting skills at the top of this tree. Here you will find the huge 44B% MP Recovery as well as a nice 1,100% MP Multiplier bonus. If you’re confused about what some of the stats in the trees mean, check down the article after the Guild Adventure Hall for explanations.

Gilgamesh Mastery Skills

Since Mastery Skills are persistent, they will apply with any active hero. So don’t worry about missing out on these very valuable skills when using Kingsglaive Noctis, for example. Remember those Royal Dark skills in the Hero Tree that need a higher level Gilgamesh? Well, those are the very ones you can unlock right away in the Mastery Tree. There are also a few extra boosts that aren’t in the Hero Tree, and you can find them tucked away at the bottom of the Masteries.

Guild Adventure Hall

With only a base attack of 4250 (in comparison, Prompto has 5000), Gilgamesh won’t be the hardest hitter in the Guild Adventure Hall. However, with his 7.25M% max Physical Attack with a chance for additional damage from other Link Strikes in the Hall, he will do just fine as a Dungeon runner. Especially if you are able to grab AutoPlay in the Moogle Market or Gold Store.

Definitions

Here are some terms you will see in Gilgamesh’s skills:

    • Synergy: An added boost that requires both aspects to be present in combat.
    • Astral and Hero Synergy – add your hero and Astral to benefit from this boost.
    • Royal Dark Stats: These are new stats that are as effective as the original Dark Troop stats, but 1% Royal Dark is equal to 1T% Dark.
    • Hero Critical Hit: Increases your chance for a hit to become Critical, which deals more damage to a monster. 100% Hero Critical Hit means you will land a Critical 100% of the time!
    • Hero Critical Damage: This is how much more damage each Critical Hit will deal with the monster you are attacking.
    • Hero Attack Streak: This adds to the HIGHEST streak your hero can achieve.
    • Streak Per Attack: This is how much EACH HIT will add to your streak. Of course, this is only good up to the HIGHEST streak.
      • A 150 Streak Per Attack will only hit for 105 if that is your Hero Attack Streak max.

Should You Level Up Gilgamesh?

With the increase in stats, it’s safe to say that he will help you no matter what your play-style is. Gilgamesh seems to be a general, all-purpose combat hero. With boosts to Dark Earth as well as Dark Juggernaut, you will be able to burn others while eating incoming marches. Since you probably already have Gilgamesh unlocked, all you need are the Heroic and Mythic medals to get going! Don’t forget to skill Verstael in order to craft the Magitek Hero Chests in the Magitek Converter because those Hero AP and Mastery Points will be useful in getting the most out of his Skills.
