The OG hero, Noctis Lucis Caelum makes a comeback with all new hero levels. It looks like his third ability got an improvement in how much damage he gives (now 4,000 attack)! As a result, he is just as good in the Dungeon as Veteran Prompto! Of course, you have to level up his Dungeon skill in the Hero Skills Tree, but it is going to be worth it since the Guild Adventure Hall is an important aspect of gameplay these days. I’ll run through the various boosts your hero will give your empire, so you can better yourself in combat.

Hero Skills Overview

First of all, we get the basic Monster Hunting skills with these most recent hero levels. Since this is one of the better ways to get valuable loot from monsters and Realm Bosses, anything that boosts Monster Hunting stats is great. Next, we see combat skills. While he is a basic hero when it comes to his skills, he does boost up Dark Juggernaut more than the other Dark Mercenaries. In contrast to Luna, he doesn’t boost a particular core troop or Elemental. But he does have a Bahamut attack skill.

Noctis Hero Skills Tree

Hero Skills

Monster Tactics: Dark Monsters: Unlocks the ability to attack Dark Monsters while Noctis is active. Requires Noctis hero level 301. Allows Noctis to attack level 8 and 9 monsters.

Max MP: Increases Noctis’ Max MP up to a max of 300%. Requires Noctis hero level 301. This is a significant increase to his MP. Combined with Double MP from the Oracle and 100% Noctis MP from a pack, this is GREAT for storing MP.

Hero Attack: Increases your Hero Attack bonus up to a max of 5,000%. Requires Noctis hero level 301.

Hero Critical Hit: Increases your Hero Critical Hit up to a max of 5%. Requires Noctis hero level 302.

MP Recovery: Increases Noctis’ Max Recovery up to a max of 50,000%. Requires Noctis hero level 301.

Hero Streak: Increases your Hero Attack Streak up to a max of 200%. Requires Noctis hero level 302. This makes your streak a +2 whenever you attack a monster. Combine this with gear, other Hero Skills, and the Behemoth core to increase your streak with each hit.

Hero Critical Damage: Increases your Hero Critical Damage up to a max of 50%. Requires Noctis hero level 302.

Dungeon Dark Bonus: Increases your Dungeon HP up to a max of 800,000%, Dungeon Physical Damage up to a max of 2.5M%, and Dungeon Healing up to a max of 15,000%. Requires Noctis hero level 303. Certainly, the 2.5M% makes him a contender in the Guild Adventure Hall!

Dark Core Troop Attack: Increases your Dark Warrior, Dark Mage, and Dark Cavalry attack up to a max of 343M%. Requires Noctis hero level 304.

Dark Mercenary Attack: Increases your Dark Guardian, Dark Airship, and Dark Mech attack up to a max of 77.5M%, and your Dark Juggernaut attack up to a max of 114M%. Requires Noctis hero level 304.

Dark Elemental Troop Attack: Increases your Dark Lightning, Dark Earth, Dark Ice, and Dark Fire troop attack up to a max of 225M%. Requires Noctis hero level 304.

Dark Core Troop HP: Increases your Dark Warrior, Dark Mage, and Dark Cavalry HP up to a max of 62.5M%. Requires Noctis hero level 305.

Dark Mercenary HP: Increases your Dark Guardian, Dark Airship, and Dark Mech HP up to a max of 32.5M%, and your Dark Juggernaut HP up to a max of 66.3M%. Requires Noctis hero level 305.

Dark Elemental Troop HP: Increases your Dark Lightning, Dark Earth, Dark Ice, and Dark Fire troop HP up to a max of 110M%. Requires Noctis hero level 304.

Dark Core Troop Armor: Increases your Dark Warrior, Dark Mage, and Dark Cavalry armor up to a max of 188M%. Requires Noctis hero level 306.

Dark Mercenary Attack: Increases your Dark Guardian, Dark Airship, and Dark Mech armor up to a max of 97.5M%, and your Dark Juggernaut armor up to a max of 199M%. Requires Noctis hero level 306.

Dark Elemental Troop Armor: Increases your Dark Lightning, Dark Earth, Dark Ice, and Dark Fire troop armor up to a max of 330M%. Requires Noctis hero level 306.

Dark Astral Attack: Increases your Dark Astral attack bonus by up to a max of 18.5M%. Requires Noctis hero level 307.

Dark Troop With Hero: Increases your Dark Troop attack with hero up to a max of 175M%, Dark Troop HP with hero up to a max of 115M%, and Dark Troop armor with hero up to a max of 345M%. Requires Noctis hero level 308. Only applies if Noctis is included in combat, whether in your empire or included in a march.

Dark Juggernaut: Increases your Dark Juggernaut attack up to a max of 114M%, Dark Juggernaut HP up to a max of 66.3M%, and Dark Juggernaut armor up to a max of 199M%. Requires Noctis hero level 308.

Dark Elemental With Hero: Increases your Dark Elemental troop attack, HP, and armor with hero up to a max of 130M% each. Requires Noctis hero level 308.

Dark Bahamut Attack: Increases your Bahamut attack bonus up to a max 37.5M%. Requires Noctis hero level 309.

Reviewing all his Hero Skills, it’s easy to see that including Noctis and Bahamut in combat will significantly increase your attack power. Likewise, adding Juggernaut will only make your attack even more powerful. With the increased MP from the most recent gear, his hero levels, gems, and the Behemoth core, how high does YOUR MP bar go?

Mastery Skills Overview

First, we see similar boosts as his Hero Skills tree. But when you scroll down, you see that he also has his special skills that boost your empire in different ways. For example, Dark Construction T2 Cost Efficiency, Infused Dark Research Speed, Tier 6 Dark Troop Training Speed, and Dark Research T2 Cost Efficiency. Just like how Noctis was when we were first learning how to play the game.

Dark Core Troop Attack: Increases your Dark Warrior, Dark Mage, and Dark Cavalry attack up to a max of 343M%. Requires Noctis hero level 301.

Dark Mercenary Attack: Increases your Dark Guardian, Dark Airship, and Dark Mech attack up to a max of 79.5M%, and your Dark Juggernaut attack up to a max of 199M%. Requires Noctis hero level 301.

Requires Noctis hero level 302.

Dark Mercenary HP: Increases your Dark Guardian, Dark Airship, and Dark Mech HP up to a max of 32.5M%, and your Dark Juggernaut HP up to a max of 66.3M%. Requires Noctis hero level 302.

Dark Elemental Troop HP: Increases your Dark Lightning, Dark Earth, Dark Ice, and Dark Fire troop HP up to a max of 110M%. Requires Noctis hero level 302.

Dark Core Troop Armor: Increases your Dark Warrior, Dark Mage, and Dark Cavalry armor up to a max of 188M%. Requires Noctis hero level 303.

Dark Mercenary Attack: Increases your Dark Guardian, Dark Airship, and Dark Mech armor up to a max of 97.5M%, and your Dark Juggernaut armor up to a max of 199M%. Requires Noctis hero level 303.

Dark Elemental Troop Armor: Increases your Dark Lightning, Dark Earth, Dark Ice, and Dark Fire troop armor up to a max of 330M%. Requires Noctis hero level 303.

Dark Astral Attack: Increases your Dark Astral attack bonus by up to a max of 18.5M%. Requires Noctis hero level 304.

Dark Elemental With Hero: Increases your Dark Elemental troop attack, HP, and armor with hero up to a max of 130M% each. Requires Noctis hero level 305.

Dark Juggernaut: Increases your Dark Juggernaut attack up to a max of 114M%, Dark Juggernaut HP up to a max of 66.3M%, and Dark Juggernaut armor up to a max of 199M%. Requires Noctis hero level 304.

Dark Troop With Hero: Increases your Dark Troop attack with hero up to a max of 175M%, Dark Troop HP with hero up to a max of 115M%, and Dark Troop armor with hero up to a max of 345M%. Requires Noctis hero level 305. Only applies if Noctis is included in combat, whether in your empire or included in a march.

Dark Mercenary Debuffs: Increases your Dark Mercenary Attack Resistance, Dark Mercenary Cripple HP, and Dark Mercenary Armor Piercing up to a max of 200M% each. Requires Noctis hero level 305. This reduces your enemy’s stats by up to 200M% and it is subtractive. As a result, an enemy that has an attack of 500M% will have their attack lowered to 300M%.

Dark Bahamut Attack: Increases your Bahamut attack bonus up to a max 37.5M%. Requires Noctis hero level 305.

Dark Construction T2 Cost Efficiency: Increases your Dark RSS (T2) Cost Efficiency – Construction bonus by up to a max of 200%. Requires Noctis hero level 306. Efficiency means how well you USE your RSS, which does not mean you use 200% less. So an efficiency of 200% would make you use 75% less RSS than you would if you had 0% efficiency.

Mirror Hero: Noctis: Increases your Mirror Hero Noctis: Debuff Enemy Dark Troops by up to a max of 10M% and Mirror Hero Noctis: Dark City Massacre Bonus by up to a max of 10M%.

Infused Dark Research Speed: Increases your Infused Dark Research Speed by up to a max of 200%. Requires Noctis hero level 306. This only applies to Infused Dark Research. No other research type before or after the Infused type.

Tier 6 Dark Troop Training Speed: Increases your Tier 6 Dark Troop training speed up to a max of 300%. Requires Noctis hero level 308. With the expense of training t6 troops, every little boost helps!

Dark Research T2 Cost Efficiency: Increases your Dark Resource T2 Cost Efficiency – ALL Research by up to a max of 200%. Requires Noctis hero level 308. This math works the same as the construction boost above. This applies to all research that uses T2 RSS.

Unlock Premium Noctis Gift Tile Rewards: Unlocks premium rewards when gathering on Noctis Gift Tiles. Requires Noctis hero level 360. The benefits of this skill seem to be either t2 armaments along with the t1 or increased loot of both.

Seems like the higher Noctis Mastery Skills will benefit anyone who has lagged a little behind in their construction and research. Likewise, with t7/8 Dark Troops out, t6 will be a lifeline to the players who need protection but can’t quite afford a full empire of the newer tiers. I’m extremely interested in how the Premium Noctis Gift Tile Rewards pan out. The Luna Hexatheon skill has proved to be a nice one.

Noctis Power of Kings

Check out this awesome article by AlyKat about the Power of Kings. The first skills are the same for all the male heroes, but the latter ones change and make each hero shine with their specialized abilities. Noctis keeps up his generalized skills with troop stats, research cost reductions and speed, construction cost reductions, and troop training speed.

Noctis Dungeon Abilities
Dungeon Abilities

If you take a trip into the Dungeon, be sure to bring Noctis along with you! His Dark Dungeon skill makes him just as hard a hitter as Veteran Prompto. With 2.5M% Physical Dungeon Attack and the fact that his Link Strike deals additional damage when playing along with other Noctis heroes, he could even be BETTER than Veteran Prompto! So, you should bring all your high leveled Noctis heroes together in the guild with their Link Strike abilities. Furthermore, his third ability deals 4,000 Physical damage, which is higher than what it used to be. This is a nice freebie from the game since it wasn’t announced anywhere 😉

What do you think of the new and improved Noctis? Since both Luna and Noctis had new levels released at the same time, you would have to choose which one you would rather work on for your empire. Even if you don’t use Noctis in battle, he still provides many other boosts that will benefit you. Especially with his Mastery Skills that apply no matter which hero you have active.
