Guide to Noctis 500

The original hero gains some new abilities, and they are pretty awesome when you combine them with other recent releases. For example, he gives extra boosts to the recent Power of Queens. As well as pairing well with certain gems to maximize his boosts. So, get your best MP gear ready, activate your Behemoth and Gilgamesh Cores, and level up! You’re not going to want to miss any opportunity to use some of Noctis’ unique abilities.

Noctis Hero Skills

Just like any other hero, Noctis comes with some added boosts to his monster-hunting skills. We especially love the added MP with every single Max MP node in the hero tree. Then, we find the Dungeon ability, which may not be the best out of our heroes, but will come in handy if you want to take advantage of some of his new Mastery Skills: Charismatic Leader and Charismatic Leader II. More on those in a bit.

You’ll want to take note of the skills that say “with hero” since some of our newer Paragon Gems will multiply these stats. You could get up to a 315% multiplier for each of these stats with seven level 40 gems in your combat gear. That’s not too shabby. Let’s take a look at the rest of his Hero Skills.

Noctis Mastery Skills

Proving once again that Noctis is the Jack of all Trades, his Mastery Tree is loaded with boosts that will both help you in combat and aid you in your growth. Since these are Mastery Skills, they will apply no matter which hero is active. Although the Charismatic Leader skills require Noctis to be in the Dungeon. These aren’t TRUE Masteries, but they are worth it since you get free troops! Also, the Noctis Mirror Troop would have to be present in combat for those particular boosts to apply.

Let’s dive into his Mastery Tree and see what we get:

*Terms Defined

Sometimes there are terms that describe boosts that aren’t entirely clear. I’ll try to explain these following boost descriptions so you can have a better understanding of how these game mechanics work.

    • Efficiency: This isn’t an actual reduction. It increases your efficiency of using those materials (in this case, Imbued Dark Troops Research Tomes).
        • Actual cost = original cost/(1+efficiency)
    • Debuffs –
      • Attack Resistance: Reduces your enemy’s attack by an exact number.
      • Cripple HP: Reduces your enemy’s HP by an exact number.
      • Armor Piercing: Reduces your enemy’s armor by an exact number.
    • GPGs: Guild Proving Grounds, also known as the Guild Adventure Hall or Dungeon.

Noctis Boosts

Dark Core Troop

  • Attack: 175B% (w/ hero: 525B% total)
  • HP: 55B% (w/ hero: 155B% total)
  • Armor 165B% (w/ hero: 470B% total)

Dark Mercenary Troop

  • Attack: 175B% (Dark Juggernaut: 850B% total)
  • HP: 55B% (Dark Juggernaut: 170B% total)
  • Armor: 165B% (Dark Juggernaut: 505B% total)

Dark Elemental Troop

  • Attack: 175B% (w/ hero: 1.375T% total)
  • HP: 55B% (w/ hero: 410B% total)
  • Armor: 165B% (w/ hero: 565B% total)

Astral Attack: 105B% (Dark Bahamut 455B% total)

Be sure to add the Imbued Elemental Aeon Gems and the Infused Aeon Gems in the Paragon slots of your combat gear for some extra oomph in your battle. Who would want to take a hit with over one TRILLION Elemental attack multiplied by 315 percent? Ouch, is all I have to say to that.

Dungeon Runner for Life

Noctis abilities
Dungeon Abilities

Noctis isn’t the best attacker in the Guild Adventure Hall, nor is he the second best. But, if you have enough guild members playing along with you, then you can take advantage of his Charismatic Leader skills to rack up some extra troops while running Dungeons. These skills will only apply in the following PERMANENT halls:

  • Challenge of the Hexatheon
  • Resourceful Retreat
  • Tonberry Troubles
  • Mines of Darkness
  • Gilgamesh’s Trial
  • Gems & Gear Galore

So, suit up Noctis with your best Dungeon gear and get to slaying the beasts in front of you.

Is Noctis 500 Worth It?

You already have Noctis unlocked, you know, since he was your FIRST hero. Most likely, you’ve been able to rack up some of his Dark Tier 2 Medals. Why not take advantage of some of the boosts he has to offer and level him up? With MP Carryover, you don’t have to worry about wasting any Hero MP if there isn’t a current monster event running. If you’re planning on doing any building or research, those Mastery Skills are going to save you valuable resources and speedups along the way. The Recruitment Initiative Chests not only give you Dark Core 10-12 troops, but the blog also states Event Specific Troops. While I’m not too sure what that means, free is free, and I hope we see some cool, new troops in the future. At level 445, Noctis will unlock extra Power of Queens benefits, and multiplied by each Queen’s Party Link, your empire is going to be worthy of battle.
