The power of the Royals and Veterans has come to FFXV: ANE in a third skill tree for many of your Heroes Astrals, Mounts, and Kings of Lucis. The Power of Kings, Power of Queens, Power of Veterans, Power of Challengers, Power of Mounts, Power of the Wild, and Power of Astrals give additional boosts for your Empire with a plethora of skilling options. Additionally, the Kings of Lucis now have a secondary skilling tree, starting with The Wise. In today’s guide we will discuss;

  • What exactly are the “Powers”?
  • How do you skill them?
  • What boosts do they have?

What are the “Powers”?

These are additional skilling option under the Skill Tree section of;

  • Specific Heroes
  • Specific Astrals
  • Specific Mounts
  • Kings Of Lucis

For the Power of Astrals, Power of Mounts, and Tutelage trees you will see the skilling tree available right under the normal skilling area.

How do I skill them?

Using the powers of royalty requires special items available in events and the pack store.

Power of Queens

In order to skill the Power of Queens, you must first use Power of Queens Unlock Medals to unlock Level 1 for ability points to spend skilling. Once you have done that, use the Power of Queens Upgrade Medals. As you unlock new levels, more ability points will be given to you to spend on skilling.

Power of Kings and Veterans

The same theory holds for the Power of Kings and Power of Veterans, but you will be using their specific materials instead of Power of Queens (of course).

Power of Champions

These trees are currently available for Ardyn, Cor, Gilgamesh, Glauca and Ravus.

Power of Astrals

These require the Power of Astrals unlock items.

Power of Mounts

These require the Power of Mounts (imagine that) unlock items.

Power of the Wild

These Powers apply to Carbuncle, Pryna and Umbra.

Kings of Lucis Tutelage (currently only The Wise)

These require The Wise Tutelage Unlock.

Who has these powers and what do they do?

Let’s take a look at each available Heroes’ skill powers under the Power of the King/Queen/Veteran/Challengers/Mounts/Astrals. These skills work like Mastery Skills (except for Mounts). In other words, they are always active no matter which Hero you have on, and the boosts are stackable.

Power of Queens

There are both Universal skills and skills relevant to each Hero. The Universal skills and are as follows;

  • Vassal City Troop Attack
  • Vassal City Troop Armor
  • Vassal City Troop Health

  • Dark Troop/Merc/Elemental Health
  • Dark Astral Attack
  • Dark Mount Attack
  • City Assaulting Troop Attack
  • City Defending Troop Attack
  • City Assaulting and Defending Troop Health
  • City Assaulting and Defending Troop Armor
  • Mirror Hero Luna: Dark Mage Bonus

Tutelage Trees

Currently only The Wise has a Tutelage tree. To unlock this requires “The Wise Tutelage Unlock” items. This tree focuses on;

  • Dark Troop Combat Stats

  • Merc Combat Stats
  • Elemental Combat Stats
  • Troop Supplies Combat Stats
  • Dark Elemental Cost Efficiency

You’ll notice one thing I did not address in this article, which is “Aly, what should I skill first?”. That’s because the answer isn’t that simple. Everyone’s account is different, and people have different goals. Take a look a the lists above. Decide what’s most important to you. Is it Elemental Attack? March Size? Mirror Hero Boosts? The end result is up to you!

    It’s important to notice that Power of Kings trees are special in the sense that not all skills are necessary to max out. You can reach the skills at the bottom of tree skipping some of the hugher ones.
