Guide to Veteran Ignis 200

Veteran Ignis Hero Skills

Depending on your play style, you’ll want to scrutinize the Hero Tree and test to see if these boosts will outweigh any special boosts provided by another hero. The pure combat stats are increased in comparison to Aldercapt, but you might do better with the Carbuncle and Behemoth Mount synergies when you have Carbuncle as your active hero. One item to note, however, in Veteran Ignis’ Hero Skills is the fact that he boosts the original Ignis’ Order of Heroes stats while Ignis is placed into any Order. Since this is in the Hero Skills tree, it appears that these increased stats will only apply if you have Veteran Ignis as your active hero. There is also a skill for Vault combat, which there will be events coming up for these shortly.

Veteran Ignis Mastery Skills

The most significant thing I noticed about Veteran Ignis’ Mastery Skills is that they are a tad bit better than his Hero Skills for the same skill type. While not drastically different, it was something that was a little surprising! As usual, Veteran Ignis debuffs enemy troops to make your troops even stronger in comparison! But, even if you’re not looking to increase your combat stats in that way, you can’t deny the fact that the T4 Research reductions will help you get stronger for less.

Veteran Ignis in the Guild Adventure Hall

If you have Veteran Ignis’ second and third abilities, you’ll want to compare the amount of attack and do some math to see if it works out to be your biggest hitter. As it stands, Prompto still seems to be the best, but let’s break down Veteran Ignis’ abilities…

Analyze Target: Deals NO damage, takes no damage, but the next attack deals 5x damage.

Twin-Bladed Strike: Two hits each dealing 800 damage (total 1,600).

Veteran Ignis Dungeon

In theory, you would hit with the second ability, then the third ability to deal 5x that damage. But 5 x 1600 = 8000. This sounds great, but we have to look at the fact that the first hit does ZERO damage. So, over the two hits, it’s really only 4,000 per hit. Other heroes deal 4,500 damage and you don’t have to think too hard about it!

 Veteran Ignis Heroic Medals Chart

It looks like Veteran Ignis’ medal requirements are matching the most recent Veteran Gladio release. If this changes, I will adjust the chart to reflect the new requirements.

You’ll want to check how many Heroic Medals you need for 101 since you might have a reduction applied. The same thing happened for Veteran Gladio. If you’re some of the many lucky people who have the lower medals cost, then YAY!!

Is Veteran Ignis Worth It?

Most likely, you already have Veteran Ignis unlocked, so you’ll be able to level him up by grabbing Veteran Ignis Heroic and Mythic Medals. But, to really take advantage of his skills, you will want to get him leveled up as high as you can. That’s when his Dark Research reductions kick in. Even if you prefer to use another hero in battle, his combat skills will still help since his Mastery Skills are even higher than his Hero Skills for the exact same type! Veteran Ignis’ troop focuses are Dark Juggernaut and Dark Fire, so if you are an offensive combat player, you’ll want to get every boost for those specific troop types.

Please note that he uses Heroic Medals up to level 150 then Mythic Medals to get to 200!
