In the Dark World, each Mount has its own skill tree. In addition, most of them have a second skill tree but there are two different types. The Power of the Mounts is available for older Mounts, while the newer Mounts are coming with a Training Tree. In this guide, we will take a look at each of the Mounts, and what skills the trees offer for your Base.
Where do I see these Skill Trees?
When you enter your Royal Stable you will have the option to choose a Mount. You can either summon the Mount and then hit the Skills option on the bottom right, or poke the one you want to look at from the selection menu (which is a little touchy, so summoning the Mount first tends to be easier). Once you’ve chosen Skills you will see an option to enter either the Mount Skill Tree or the Power of Mounts/Training Tree.
Which Mounts have what?
Each Mount has a different option, and some don’t have any second tree at all. The following is an overview of what to look for:
- Red Kingatrice: Training Tree
- Blue Kingatrice: Training Tree
- Red Sea Devil: None
- Blue Sea Devil: None
- Hundlegs: Training Tree
- Ebony Chocobo: Power of Mounts
- Sinistercorn: Power of Mounts
- Spiracorn: Power of Mounts
- War-Trained Chocobo: Power of Mounts
- Autumn Griffon: None
- Winter Griffon: None
- Chickatrice: None
- Anak Stag: Power of Mounts
- Lucky Chocobo: Power of Mounts
- Emerald Chocobo: None
- Matriarch Garula: none
- Behemoth: None
Adding Skills to the Power of Mount/Training Tree
These work like the other Powers (Kings/Queens/Tutelage) in that you need specific upgrade materials to unlock a chunk of skill points. Once you unlock a level, you get a handful of Skill Points to play with. When you run out, you’ll need to spend more of the Upgrade Materials to get some more. Each Mount has its own necessary unlock items in order to receive more points and progress.
You can reset your tree and rework it with the points you have accumulated so far if desired. This option is both at the entrance to the Skill Trees and also within the tree itself.
Power of Mounts
As listed above, the Power of Mounts is available for Anak Stag, Lucky Chocobo, Spiracorn, Ebony Chocobo, Sinistercorn, and War-Trained Chocobo. These Skills are persistent, so they are always active. As with the other “Powers”, there is a Universal section that each has in common. These skills are:
- Mount Endurance
- Defending Synergy
- Dark Troop/Mercenary/Elemental HP
- Mount Strength
- Attacking Synergy
- Dark Troop/Mercenary/Elemental Armor
- Mount Attack
- Dark Troop/Mercenary/Elemental Attack
- Enemy Mount Attack Resistance/Enemy Mount Strength Resistance/Enemy Cripple Mount Endurance
Beyond the Universal Skills section, each Mount has its own specific skills you can choose to diversify your boosts.
- Anak Stag: Focuses on Monster Troops, Kings of Lucis, Dark Mechs, Dark Elemental Debuffs, Shiva, and Astrals.
- Lucky Chocobo: Focuses on Troop Supplies, Kings of Lucis, Dark Mercenaries, Dark Fire Troops, Dark Merc Debuffs, and Ifrit.
- Sinistercorn: Focuses on Dark City, Dark Elementals, Dark Mage, Dark Airships/Lightning Troops, Dark Behemoth King, and Ramuh.
- Ebony Chocobo: Focuses on Dark Mercs, Dark Warrior, Dark Juggs/Ice Elementals, Dark Quetzalcoatl, Dark Crystal, and Titan.
- War Train Chocobo: Focuses on Dark Troops, Dark Cavalry, Dark Guardians/Earth Troops, Dark Iron Giant, Dark City, and Bahamut.
- Sinistercorn: Focuses on Dark Elementals, Ramuh, Dark Behemoth and general Attack.
